My mums an editor! (and an author)

Point is... give her all your money :D

Oh, and egor's tip that he may have told people before and that is pretty obvious but for people who don't know where to start, you need a book called the "Writers and Artists' Yearbook", it is basically a very very big list of where to send your work to for it to be considered for publication, the likes of which googling simply wouldn't find oh, and its annual, so get this year's edition, which you can often find in those cheap bookshops which sell leftover stock.

it would be so much easier if you just forgot about the guy instantly and all the feelings you ever felt just disappeared.

Lets face it, its better to never have loved than to have loved and lost... people just choose the latter so they don't feel stupid...

Wouldn't I make a fantabulous agony aunt? :D

On a sidenote, I suspect that break ups and romance are good for art, cos then the book would be all up and downie and schizophrenic, which I think rocks.

Sue Townsend.

Not for Adrian Mole (though those books were wonderful) - but for 'The Queen and I' - a wonderfully funny novel that is so poignant in the way it shows how the poor are forced to exist. The Queen ends up living in a council estate, on welfare, and she is treated like sh!t. But then, that's the way many elderly people are actually treated throughout the western world.

It's so easy to read, but has a lasting message - quite like Animal Farm.

I love Marion Zimmer Bradley and Katherine Kerr. They are good escapist sword and sorcery fantasy.

Katherine Kerr's most famous work is her Deverry series which is a monumental 12 book series, she is currently writing the 12th one. They must be read in order though or the story will make no sense and book 2 is not suitable for the under aged.
