Cult student quiz Blockbusters is to be revived - by Ant and Dec.The Geordie duo will also produce special one-offs of other old shows including Wheel Of Fortune, The Golden Shot and Bullseye. They will front a different show every day for a week in September.

But it will be the news that they will do a special Blockbusters - famed for catchphrase 'I'll have a P please Bob' - that will cause the most cheer.

It became a massive student hit when it was first aired in 1983 and ran for ten years.

Original host Bob Holness appeared on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and it is believed they hatched the idea then.

An ITV insider told The Sun: "The old quiz shows are cheesey but great entertainment - everyone remembers them fondly.

"We're hoping kids will enjoy it too even though they won't have seen the originals."

Oh good - a chance for me to post this piece of trivia -

Did you know that Bob Holness played saxophone on Gerry Rafferty's classic hit 'Baker Street'? He was also the first James Bond, ever, by doing it on radio, before any films were made.

I'll watch anything that cute little Dec is presenting...

I just love Ant & Dec - and I was always gutted that I'd left school before Blockbusters came on TV (showing my age there!).

Remember one classic clip where the question was "What O is a living being, either animal or plant?" (or similar) - the answer was Organism, but the poor young lad answering was clearly a bit flustered and he answered something that sounds a bit like organism, but has a couple of letters missing, and an entirely different meaning!! ::lol:: ::lol:: ::lol::

Nooo! It's an urban myth - it was a joke that first appeared in NME (for the record the saxophone intro was played by a chap called Raphel ‘Raff’ Ravenscroft). Sorry!

There was also some trivia about a bloke called Bob Simmons who once played James Bond in the current film series but I edited out coz you would've all fallen asleep by the time you fini...
