Prince Charles smiles for photographers through gritted teeth. He was overheard muttering how much he hated doing these photo calls!



Well wouldn't you rather be skiing than facing this lot, snapping away and asking loads of questions?

Prince Charles has been overheard grumbling about the press during his annual skiing trip in the Swiss resort of Klosters.

He said quietly but in full view of reporters: "Bloody people". The words were not heard by the reporters but picked up by the microphones.

Then, referring to a television correspondent who had just asked a question about next week's wedding to Camilla Parker Bowles, he continued: "I can't bear that man anyway. He's so awful, he really is. I hate these people."

The Prince and his sons Princes William and Harry, attended the traditional five-minute photocall arranged in return for peace and quiet while on the slopes.

His muttered remarks were picked up by microphones. After being questioned about how he was feeling before the big day, he said in sarcastic fashion: "I'm very glad you have heard of it."

But then he muttered to himself the words that have been the focus of every news broadcast since.

Charles's communications secretary Paddy Harverson said: "He wasn't looking forward to it. He prefers it when he skis and he just wanted to get up into the mountains."

He added: "He doesn't have contempt for the media. We have an agreement with the media where they give them space during the holiday but a few paparazzi yesterday got the holiday off to a bad start. I think the Prince was a little bit upset about that."

Paparazzi photographers snapped Prince William and girlfriend Kate Middleton together in the ski resort despite aides' attempts to keep the break private.

There was no sign of university student Kate at the photocall.

I never liked the suckupable nic' witchell either. He just comes across as one of those grovelling people who worship their 'precious'. A real sicophanic (sp).

Wish the whole lots of Royals would 'be real' for once, instead of being so up tight.
I do pity william and harry, - and the other younger ones. Then again, they choose to do as they please.

I think the news people are making it into something bigger than it is, I don't blame Charles for saying what he did, imagine having to deal with the press 24/7 into your personal life, it isn't on especially when you can be miles away from them but they still can photograph with a huge lens

This was a photo opportunity set up by the royals, though wasn't it

The countless millions and life of luxury from the moment your born, may make up for a little press intrusion, in my opinion anyway

Looks like Charles is trying to say gottel of Gear threw William and Harry in the top photo and making a bad job of it. Bring back Orval

What I thought was interesting when the wuss charles made his rude comment, The sons never blinked an eye at their fathers rudness. They both carried on with the the photo shoot as if nothing had heppened.
If Charlie boy finds the whole thing so tedious why doesn't he do the honourable thing and give up the money and all the privileges that go with the job and go and get a real job.......

didn't prince harry mumble "this is sooo exciting" and the other two laughed. looks like they all share their fathers opinion

As I said in the Charles and Camilla thread, I think Charles is arrogant and graceless to act in this way - he has had years of experience at dealing with the media and to show his feelings in this way was so unprofessional. He must know it gives the press something else to complain about so why do it? He is such a prat...

To be honest, how must it be to be William and Harry sitting there joking and trying to ignore their old grumpy Dad cocking up the photocall, no wonder Harry said it was such fun.

Charles should take his soon to be Non-Queen wife off to one of the residences of the Queen Mum and they can fish and complain to one another all they like and leave us all in peace

How dare us tax paying peasants ask the next King such insolent questions.

We should all be bowing down to him and hailing him and hes new bride as the King and Queen in waiting .

That is the reason so many Media go on these trips, their nickname is the "Death Pack" and has been for many years.

Think he should make like a tampax and flush himself sorry but this is a reference to one of his alleged fantasy's with Camy, on the sqidy tapes or something like that, can't keep up with the royals perversions. No wonder he hates the bloody press can't say I blame him after that one came out.
