Kirsty did what she threatened to earlier with her fifth Games victory - equal Philip's triumphant record in the men's event, after he lost out to Kevin in the Cycling.

The pair jokingly squabbled last night about who would earn more wins and the former Sky Sports presenter stayed true to her word by running away with the Trampolining.

In a tight contest for the other places, it was Tamara who edged out Anna for second place, while a nervous-looking Lisa lost out to Mel in the battle for fourth.

Philip meanwhile set about addressing the superior track position earned by his nearest rivals in the men's Cycling and, after a lightening start, found himself on the back wheels of Kevin.

Chesney, who held third all the way round four laps, easily held off the challenge of Danny, while Craig failed to make an impression to finish last.

Yet it was the front two of Kevin and Philip that caught the attention of the capacity crowd, as the pop star dug deep to keep The Games' outstanding male athlete behind.

Going in to the final bend, Philip attempted to cut inside his challenger's bike, but pure adrenalin and power meant Kevin won by a mere 0.6 of a second.

Unusually, the winner did not beat his Personal Best, yet all the other competitors successfully picked up the extra point on offer.

It makes for a fantastic finale to all the action of The Games 2005 with the men taking on the Javelin, while the women throw the Hammer. In addition, both will be running the 100 metres to see who will be earning Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Don't miss the action on

Positive Thinking

Kevin has told fellow athlete Chesney a few home truths in an attempt to motivate the One And Only.

As their time in The Village draws to a close, Kevin announced there is still everything to play for in the men's leaderboard.

With only the top two men entering the Champion of Champions contest tomorrow, Chesney is currently six points behind Kevin in second place.

Yet the Liberty X popster believes Chesney should not give up his hope of appearing on the track on Saturday.

Making his point to the others, Kevin stated: "Chesney's got to get it in his head he will not be staying the hotel tomorrow night," referring to the fact only the champions will stay in The Village tonight along with the contenders from 2003 and 2004.

"You're a winner, man," he continued as Chesney entered the fray.

"The thing is, I could take you in Javelin," Chesney pondered. "But the sprint? I ain't ever gonna catch you!"

"It's like me," Kevin responded. "I've got to believe I can catch Phil."

But it would seem despite his good advice, Kevin is not counting his chickens before they hatch.

"The last two sessions, I just couldn't do it [the sprint]," bemoaned the man in second, currently a full 10 points behind Philip. Ch4

The Grand Finale

There could only be two winners following an enthralling week of athletics during The Games 2005, and Philip and Kirsty duly picked up their Gold medals with first place finishes in the 100-Metres.

Philip was also victorious in the Javelin, although Lisa and Tamara edged out Kirsty in the Hammer event.

And it all concluded with a glorious men's 100-Metre sprint in which Liverpudlian Philip broke the 13-second barrier to win.

Kevin just pipped the impressive Danny to second - and become eligible for the Champion of Champions 2005 team - and Chesney broke his Personal Best in fourth.

An injured Craig finally finished his Games, but could only run in last.

The women's 100-metres was dominated by girl of the moment, Kirsty, breaking the Games Record with a fantastic time of 14.20 seconds and cementing her place as number one in the leaderboard.

Lisa's spirited run saw her come home in second and thereby qualify for the Champion of Champions tomorrow, while good friend Tamara ended in third.

Former Walker's World star Anna finished fourth, and Mel entertained the crowd despite registering over 20 seconds.

Earlier in the evening, there was a surprise in the women's Hammer as So Solid's Lisa - who had finished last in the afternoon heats - threw an excellent 20.56 metres, totally outgunning Tamara and Kirsty who ended with a single centimetre between them in second and third respectively.

A roaring Mel managed to hurl her projectile over 15 metres for fourth, and a disappointed Anna was disqualified when her hammer landed outside the regulation area.

During the other field event - the men's Javelin - there was success for overall winner Philip as he smashed his Personal Best and another Games Record with an effort of 37.51 metres.

Indeed during the exciting competition, all five athletes notched up the extra point for topping their previous high, but it was Liberty X's Kevin who came in second, Chesney third and Danny winning the last points on offer in fourth place.

There is still more action to come as tomorrow the Champion of Champions hit Sheffield - winners from 2003 and 2004 will take on this year's foursome of Philip, Kevin, Kirsty and Lisa.

Wow what a night and to see it in person, it was absolutely brillant, I am definately getting tickets next year, plus I didn't know there was going to be fireworks at the end, they were just amazing, 5 of us went and it was a real laugh, we had extremely good seats, the only shame was that we couldn't hear what Jamie Theakston was saying, and also the E4 crew interviewed the winners on the track, oh well.

If anyone id thinking of going the ticket line is 0114 565656, maybe it will be too late this year although I'm sure it will be the same box office number for next year, which is the arena's called Hallam FM.

Also I didn't realise Anna Walker came from Sheffield, I think it's Millhouses Park is the area but not all together sure!

GOLDEN girl Kirsty Gallacher is set to cash in on her victory in The Games with a £1million future.

The pin-up presenter is in talks over a string of big-money deals after she clinched the women's crown in the celebrity athletics show.

PR guru Max Clifford predicts Kirsty, daughter of Scots golfing legend Bernard Gallacher, has a glittering future. He said: 'She has the potential to be the next big thing on television.

'She needs someone like Simon Cowell to take an interest in her and would instantly go into a massive TV show for maximum exposure.

'At this stage in her career she needs strong advice and it all comes down to the people around her.

'It is going to be more difficult for her but she's an attractive girl with plenty of experience to make it.' The 29-year-old, who has repeatedly promised to give up saucy photo shoots, is desperate to be taken seriously.

She said: 'I'm moving away from doing that because I'm not tottie. Tottie is a funny thing because it's good to get it out of the way but it does make people think you're not very bright.'

Kirsty and actor Philip Olivier were crowned champions of Channel 4's The Games after nine days of gruelling competition came to an end.

Among the sports the celebrities tackled were the high dive, speed-skating, gymnastics, sumo-wrestling, rowing, water-ski jumping and trampolining.

Ex-Brookside star Philip was crowned king of The Games after winning a record seven out of nine events. In the girls' competition,super-fit Kirsty put in an equally impressive performance by notching up six victories.

The beauty, whose last presenting show was Kirsty's Home Videos, has a regular spot on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

Last night TV bosses had to fly her by helicopter from Granada studios in London to compete in Channel 4's The Games: Champion of Champions at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium for a special showdown.

Kirsty has admitted she is determined to carve out a lucrative presenting career in television.

She said: 'I haven't got a game plan as such. 'But I know what I want to do, and what I don't want to do anymore.'
