photos and info on the 2 teams with this link:

HAVE you ever wanted to see ex-Playboy model Victoria Silvstedt ripping former Sun Page 3 girl Leilani’s clothes off or Liberty X beauty Michelle Heaton rolling around with Big Brother stunner Kate Lawler?

Then Celebrity Wrestling is the TV show for you.

Hosted by X Factor’s Kate Thornton and wrestling superstar Rowdy Roddy Piper, the programme sees 12 celebrities split into two teams and put through their paces in a series of blistering bouts.

Michelle, Leilani, James Hewitt and TV presenters Jenny Powell, Jeff Brazier and Mark Speight make up The Crusaders, coached by former WWE intercontinental champion D-Lo Brown.

D-Lo’s fellow wrestler Joe Legend trains rival team The Warriors, whose members are Victoria, Kate, former tennis star Annabel Croft, showjumper Oliver Skeete, athlete Iwan Thomas and Mark Bannerman, who played Gianni Di Marco in EastEnders.

You can find out more about the celebrities, their experiences and the girls’ raunchy costumes by clicking each picture on the right.

Celebrity Wrestling, which has already been filmed, starts on ITV1 at 6.30pm this Saturday.

Kate Thornton told us: “As the show evolves people really do put friendships to one side – there is a lot of fighting, falling-out, dissing and bitching.

“There was no love loss between Kate Lawler and Leilani, Victoria and Jenny had a run-in and I know Annabel was really looking forward to taking points from Leilani.

“And among the boys there were some huge egos and ultimately that’s what they were fighting for - pride.”

She added: “There were lots of X-rays, slings and dislocations.

“Jenny had to have an operation on her knee, otherwise she would have found herself pretty inactive in a couple of year’s time, and virtually all the celebrities had to go to hospital at one point.

“I think the busiest members of the production team were Dr Tom and his team of physiotherapists and we’re now on first name terms with Hertfordshire’s A&E department.”

Roddy added: “I loved working with all these guys – because I don’t think American celebrities would put that much heart into it.

“The Americans would have backed out as soon as they found out how rough it was going to be.

“But these kids just jumped in there and went for each other - they forgot they were celebrities!”

Stars of new ITV show Celebrity Wrestling have been letting slip who they would like to see in a fight.

Jade Goody's ex Jeff Brazier has singled out All Saints singer and fellow reality show contestant Natalie Appleton.
Brazier said: "I'd like one of the girls to wrestle with Natalie."

"She was annoying on I'm A Celebrity and I'd like to see her in a headlock."

Meanwhile, Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton said: "I'd like to see a scrap between Abi Titmuss and Jodi Marsh. I don't have much respect for either of them."

The show, which presenter Kate Thornton describes as "twelve celebrities, six girls, six boys all fighting each other", is ITV's latest weapon in the battle of Saturday primetime.

Kate and her fellow wrestlers, James, Leilani, Michelle, Mark and Oliver have been on This Morning plugging the show.

They all said it was much harder then they had thought it would be.

They had proper training and but were all amazed how dificult it was.

Oliver Skeete was delighted Kate was on his team because she fights like a man.

First off he said she was like a man, Kate said, awwwwww nooooooo. Oliver apologised at once, he said he didn't mean she looked like a man because as you can see she is lovely, what he meant was she has a fighters attitude and was delighted she was on his team.

Michelle also said a follow-up show on ITV2 immediatley after the main show would show the traing and other news/gossip on the show/celebs.
The show looks like it will be great fun. :D

Well spotted-you have an awesome antenna :flowerpower:
I went into John Lewis to have a look-the staff member seemed to think I wanted to buy a TV-being very pedantic I say 10 mistakes -3 seem possibly to be Kate's and the most obvious their error is repeated.

Short sharp and snappy-bit like Kate really-the interview was pretty informative and a good part of the build up.I like Kate's outfit of shimmygreen halter top with blue jeans and jetblack pointy boots. All the guys seemed to really get on well and clearly respect each other for having got through a fierce campaign together.Kate bigged up the major by saying his army training meant he never repeated a mistake made.

Kate said she only agreed to do it if it was real fighting -she didn't want any fake stuff.

Also definitely 6.30 kick off to beat the competition.

She's not a quitter

Celebrity wrestling kicks off on ITV1 tomorrow night, but if Michelle Heaton's boyfriend had his way, the Liberty X star would be having nothing to do with it.

Former boyband singer Andy Scott Lee, who has been dating Gateshead's Michelle for the past three years, begged the beauty to quit the gruelling show after training left her black and blue.

A show insider said: "None of the celebrities realised just how intense it was going to be and none realised they might get hurt. But when Michelle finished the boot camp, she was absolutely covered in bruises all over her arms and legs.

"Andy told her to give it up. He was very worried about her."

Although it will have a live atmosphere the show is, in fact, all pre-recorded and the winner is a closely guarded secret. Nope, sorry. We've agreed to keep the identity hush-hush. For now... icNewcastle

The celeb restrainer

North East tough guy Ian Freeman is taking on the role of referee for a new prime-time TV show.

The World Ultimate Fighting champion is starring in ITV1's Celebrity Wrestling, to be screened on Saturday night.

The show sees celebrities fighting for the spotlight, and Ian will have to have to referee for Gateshead-born singer Michelle Heaton.

The Liberty X singer revealed this week how she had a bust-up with a fellow contestant Victoria Silvstedt, calling her a "prima donna".

But Ian, now living in Stanley, said Michelle did the North East proud.

"She might look all sweet and innocent but she's a fighter, she gave it all she had," he said.

The Sunderland-born tough guy - also known as The Machine - landed the part of referee after programme- makers saw him presenting Britain's Hardest alongside Steve McFadden.

Celebrity Wrestling sees 12 stars battling it out in the ring.

Presented by Kate Thornton, the show will also feature Channel 5's The Farm contestant Jeff Brazier and Olympic athlete Iwan Thomas.

Ian, who won the world heavyweight total fighting title in 2001, said: "When I started filming I thought it would be child's play but it wasn't. There were broken ribs, pulled ligaments and torn muscles - some contestants had to pull out.

"They were taking it so seriously and really going for each other. I was under a lot of pressure to keep everything safe.

"The makers said they were pleased I was the referee as not many people could have handled the pressure so well."

The 38-year-old Cage Rage author said: "It will be fun to watch. I can't wait to see it."

Let's get behind our Michelle

Picture this. You're a celebrity in a successful pop band.

You regularly feature in the tabloids and your boyfriend is a heart-throb singer.

But when your partner becomes nothing more than a Eurovision also-ran and your band's singles and albums start flopping, you quickly become yesterday's news.

That's exactly how Michelle Heaton must be feeling.

It comes to something when a Z-list Page Three model, failed actor and royal love rat are deemed to be bigger crowd pullers.

The Liberty X singer does not even feature on the trailer for her new ITV1 reality show Celebrity Wrestling which starts later this month.

Instead of Geordie star Michelle, we're given, Leilani Dowding (who? exactly), Marc Bannerman, (Gianni from East-Enders) and James Hewitt, among a few others.

Seems a strange article-i've only seen the ad that features a lot of Victoria and Kate ("CW Rocks My World!")-so there must be several being shown-maybe Michelle is in another one. ${
