Quote:
A PERVERT boss stripped naked to interview a young woman for a job.

Saeed Akbar, 35, suggested to his victim that they both undress for the meeting in his office.

The horrified woman refused to strip. Akbar then left the room and returned shortly afterwards, totally nude and clutching a clipboard. He told police that being naked was part of his 'tough interview technique'. But he later admitted: 'It was just a cheap thrill. I wanted a little bit of excitement that afternoon.'

A sheriff warned Akbar yesterday that he could face jail over his bizarre antics.

Dad-of-one Akbar was a respected manager with a firm of translators when the 25-year-old victim applied for a job last September.

She spoke to Akbar, who invited her for an interview at his Glasgow office the next day.

When the woman arrived, Akbar asked if she had a problem with doing the interview naked.

The astonished woman said she had, and Akbar began the interview fully dressed. But then he suddenly left the room.

Vincent Lunny, prosecuting, told Glasgow Sheriff Court: 'Akbar returned shortly after completely naked, carrying only a clipboard.

'The woman was extremely distressed and frightened for her safety. She voiced her disgust and Akbar left and came back, this time fully clothed.'

Akbar tried to restart the interview but the woman fled and reported him to police

The sex pest told officers that his nudity was a consensual 'role play', and part of his 'tough interviewing technique'.

Akbar added: 'I asked was she OK because if not, it would not have happened.

'I am not a rapist, I am not a pervert, I am not a psycho.'

But he added: 'If I am totally up front, it was just a cheap thrill,a kick.

'I wanted a little bit of excitement that afternoon, that's all.'

Akbar, of Dunfermline, Fife, admitted breach of the peace.

Aamer Anwar, defending, said Akbar's partner and friends had shunned him over his behaviour.

He had lost his job with Alpha Translating and Interpreting Services, who work with the Scottish Executive, police and the courts.

Mr Anwar added: 'It was a serious abuse of his position, as he foolishly believed the complainer was interested in him.

'He regrets the alarm and distress he caused to the woman. His life has been destroyed.'

Sheriff Brian Lockhart placed Akbar on the sex offenders register and told him prison will be an option when he is sentenced next month.

Alpha refused to comment

Not sure what to make of this and the way the law is dealing with it. It costs us tens of thousend as a society to inprision someone was a joke gone bad worse than first offenders who beat someone up staying out of prision.

is he really a sex offender, adding him to the list of real evil souls seems extreme

WTF? This story is insane! The court system now places him alongside the likes of people who have abused dozens of children, raped, etc. The guy took his clothes off, are we now classifying nudity as a crime too?

Sure, the woman has a 'right' to kick up a stink about it- get him fired for his utter lack of professionalism, but hell, the guy is just a bit weird, he never attacked her, his life could be ruined now for good. What sort of stupid judge made this decision?

Oh well, so much for the justice system, maybe we should also jail (and label as sex offender) anyone who takes pictures of their lover whilst naked?

Calrissian: Allah Ackbar !

so he took his clothes off. Big deal. And for that he's going to be put on the Sex Offenders Register? He is a bit of a prat for doing it (and would he have done the same thing if a bloke was in the room?) but what about streakers? OK, so this was a bit personal, and perhaps threatening, but ffs, it's not like he jumped on the poor woman. if the law is going to stoop to this level then I think there should be a law against flip-flops, exposed overweight bellies, tongue piercings, and ankle bracelets because they are in the same league of unpleasantness.

I've been doing Work Experience on one of my local newspapers recently, and I've spent quite a while in the courts - crown and magistrates.
I have to say, I've been quite surprised at just how easy it is to find yourself with a prison sentence, and a relatively long one at that.

It's quite frustrating as well, when they start an inquest / hearing, and sit through all the proceedings - witnesses giving their statements etc etc, and then for it to be suddenly adjourned to a later date when the whole thing has to be repeated?!

It's ridiculous really, when you consider that a lot of the people there were police officers and medics, who surely have much better things to do with their time.

Oh man, I think I might just have to add that to my manifesto for 2009.

Would it be a bit extreme to suggest that flip flops are a capital offence, and execution is the just sentence?

Calrissian: Becomes upset from a number of unrelated things.

this guy is a total pervert, how can anyone dismiss what he did as just a joke? the woman must have been terrified that she was about to be attacked. would he have done it to a man? not bloody likely, he was abusing this woman for his own kicks, he deserves everything he gets
