A DATING agency owner, a shearer and an apprentice hairdresser are the three Victorians hoping to become millionaires on the fifth series of Big Brother.
The Channel 10 reality television show will be launched tonight, with 13 new housemates and one mystery intruder who will be locked away for three months at Dreamworld, on the Gold Coast.
Victoria's representatives are Glenn, 21, a shearer who wants to be an "Aussie icon" and Constance, 21, a free-spirited apprentice hairdresser. The third member of the contingent is dating agency owner Angela.
Angela, 29, who comes from a family of fine-paper merchants, is a regular figure on Melbourne's social circuit.
She travels extensively and has a love of expensive international designer labels.
She has also been a member of Lillian Frank's dynamic Royal Children's Hospital committee.
Angela established the Me4U dating agency in Melbourne late last year.
"I've found my passion; infusing beautiful people, champagne and love," she said at the time.
Angela's foray into reality TV came as a surprise to her father, Ian.
"I knew that she was trying to do something with it, (Big Brother) but that was such a long time ago and she was not allowed to tell anybody anything about what she was doing," he said on Friday.
"I thought 'good as gold. If you get it, you get it, if you don't, you don't'."
He said his daughter was outgoing and stood a good chance of winning the $1 million prize.
"I think she would be pretty good at anything she did, to be honest with you," he said.
The Victorians will be joined in the house by South Australian office worker and promotional model Gianna and Brisbane crane company assistant manager Nelson.
Other housemates include a receptionist, a demolition worker, a waitress, a journalist and an estate agent.
The fifth series of Big Brother is being promoted as the steamiest ever. Reality TV has not done well for Ten so far this year, with The X Factor proving to be a ratings flop.
Big Brother executive producer Kris Noble said, after last year's "back-to-basics" Big Brother, he realised people wanted more from the contestants.
He set out to find mostly "single, sexy and uninhibited" people by changing the audition process and forcing people to apply in person.
"They are different. In saying that, they are not a whole bunch of unlikable loudmouths," Noble said.
"They are nice people, but they have edges to them and they are less inhibited than you and I are."
Noble said the BB character had been toughened up and would be sterner on contestants.
"He will act more swiftly to hand out punishment and the show will be run a lot closer to the edge," he said.
The new Big Brother house features a sauna and only double beds, setting the scene for plenty of interaction between residents.
The housemates will be introduced to viewers tonight, with the first eviction set for May 22.
