It is about time that they put a stop to all the bad behaviour

I'm supporter of zero-tolerance what comes to any bad behaviour that's causing harm to others. But forbid to wear certain clothes - no way - it's ridiculous! If you forbid to wear certain clothes they'll be the more wanted than ever. But it's ok to forbid an entrance to a shopping-center from people that are wearing certain clothes, if they have caused trouble there.

I think it's a bit ridiculous, people's clothing doesn't determine what sort of person they are.

Oi, I thought that you are wearing school-uniforms in UK?

Over here for example restaurants can decide what kind of customers they let in and what they leave out. It's just civil-right of entrepreneurs that owns shopping-centers etc. You don't let certain people to come in to your house, too. If certain people has caused trouble and it's obvious that they are going to do it again, then it's ok. But goverment or parliament has nothing to do with it! You can't wear at work certain type of clothes as well and you can't use certain Avatars on this Forum.

It is ridiculous, but it was Blair  that had a comment over this subject.

A shopping centre in Bootle has banned the wearing of clothes as part of a crackdown on anti-social behaviour. The New Strand shopping centre said it had received dozens of complaints about youths wearing clothes. "Many of the complaints came from our more elderly visitors, who felt very intimidated by the sight of these youths," said Douglas Ramsbottom, the centre's manager. "We didn't take this decision lightly, but we're sure that our new code of conduct will make customers feel more comfortable."

Mr Ramsbottom was encouraged by a local expert in "sartorial criminology", Professor Gregory T Mullet from the University of Bootle. "Our researchers spent almost a year watching over 500 hours of crimes being committed on CCTV," he told DeadBrain. "There was a common theme among all of them: they were all committed by people wearing clothes. A ban is the only solution."

One week on from the introduction of the ban, and anti-social behaviour in the shopping centre has reduced dramatically. "Whereas before we would see several incidents a day, ranging from graffiti to petty arson, under the ban we've only had one incident of inappropriate behaviour, but we'd rather not talk about that one," said Mr Ramsbottom's head of security, wearing nothing but a belt around his waist for his radio.

When asked what effect the ban had had on trade Mr Ramsbottom refused to say, adding that it was entirely normal for the place to be empty around lunchtime.

Late news
The Strand's only remaining eating establishment, Mr Miggin's Coffee and Donut Emporium, has had to close following a series of unfortunate accidents.

What good's it going to do?If someones hell bent on causing trouble they'll do it regardless of whether they're in hoodies, suits, trackies, school uniform.Hoodies are worn by most of the kids round here(Shock horror...even from the age of 2!!!!Eeeek).The vast majority of them do what kids have done since creation.Hang with their pals and want to look the part.To assume that all young peole are yobs because of their clothes is absolutely ludicrous!
I suppose all lasses in a mini-skirt are 'tarts' and asking for it by the same mentality then :-?

well, I think hoodies should be banned because they are just really bad clothes! But I think what they are saying is that you can't see people's faces. It's like motorcyclists have to remove their helmets when entering banks. Not all motorcyclists are going to rob banks just like all people who wear hoods aren't going to cause intolerable nuisance.

A 16-year-old girl has been released on police bail after a teenager was knocked unconscious in the latest case of the "happy slapping" craze.

Becky Smith, 16, suffered temporary paralysis after being set upon by a teenage mob.

The gang filmed the attack on their mobile phones.

............................................ Image
Becky, of Blackley, Greater Manchester, said of her attackers: "I think they are attention seeking. They want someone to notice them and think they are hard."

Police said a girl of 16 had been arrested on suspicion of assault.

The school, Plant Hill, has also warned parents that children were downloading the video of British hostage Ken Bigley being beheaded in Iraq onto their mobile phones.

A Government-backed task force is to be set up to advise on how to improve the behaviour of children.

Its job will be to formulate a new national code of behaviour, setting out minimum standards expected from pupils.

It will examine new powers for headteachers to tackle violent pupils.

And it will consider how to make parents take responsibility for the way their children behave.

Education Secretary Ruth Kelly pledged to create the task force after the Prime Minister said he was determined to make tackling the problem a top priority.

David Hart, of the National Association of Head Teachers, said: "Heads must be given the power to apply their schools' zero tolerance policies without bureaucratic interference.

"Parents must accept the consequences of their own violent or aggressive behaviour, even if it means the exclusion of their own children."

Secondary Heads Association general secretary John Dunford said: "Schools cannot impact on behaviour without the support of parents and the wider community and the group will need to work in this context."

If the Parent's can't control them then someone will have to, otherwise were heading to a Mad Max society, where everything breaks down.

A teenager was arrested following an attack on a 16-year-old girl which was filmed on a mobile phone, police said.

Becky Smith was beaten unconscious on May 9 near her home in Blackley, Manchester.

The attackers filmed the assault on a mobile video phone - a craze known as Happy Slapping.

A 16-year-old girl, from Blackley, was arrested on suspicion of assault.

Becky was ambushed by a gang of teenagers at the junction of Fortrose Avenue and Sandyhill Road in Blackley as she walked home from a friend's house.

She suffered serious head injuries and temporary paralysis and spent two days at North Manchester General Hospital before going home.

In that time, the video recording of the attack was circulated around her school, Plant Hill High in Blackley.

Her 13-year-old brother Craig was shown the film by a fellow pupil.

Everyone is too afraid to discipline their children in case they feel the wrath of social workers or a court case. Someone, somewhere in middle class middle England sits an effin do-gooder with a Sociology degree completely far-removed from reality. Bring back discipline. Trouble is, all the politicians are making the right noises but no one wants to (or more likely, can't) do anything about it.
:-?

Maybe all this misbehaviour starts from early childhood - I worked this week with 26 children who were 3 to 8 years old that all are in a certain age to say NO to everything and they WANT everything and some parents believes in all that and they can't say where the limits really are. With each new one (not with them who knows me) of them I had to go trough the limits that I have when I work with them as a group and as an adult and a teacher. I won't accept certain things from them and from myself. I'm not a person that dances with the pipes that children play, maybe their mothers and fathers does it but not me. And children trust me for that. Things get worse year by year if parents don't act like parents (you know that someone - male celeb -said to press that if his 3 years old girl wakes up in the middle of the night and says that she wants pancakes, he will make them for her) - children feels basicly themselves unprotected by the adults behaviour and starts to act like maniacs to get the attention and limits. And those videos they see almost every day and those games children play since two years of age - and the clothes that parents buy for them  They all have an effect what kind of teenagers and young adults they'll grow someday. Calrissian may have much more knowledge with fluently English on this subject.
