About 40 real life EastEnders will be the stars of a new reality TV show.
The production company behind hit shows Footballers' Wives and Bad Girls have installed ten families in a purpose-built estate in east London.
Their cameras will follow each person as they go about their daily lives and viewers will be able to vote families off, the Sun reports.
"We believe it will be the biggest and most challenging reality TV show ever," an insider told the newspaper.
The stars of the show will go to work as usual every day but will be in the spotlight from the moment they set foot in their homes at night.
Filming on the show, which will be aired for half an hour three times a week, is due to begin later this year and will continue until Christmas 2006.
Given their track record with explosive dramas, Shed Productions' new show is likely to be as action-packed as the onscreen EastEnders.
And the production company certainly has an eye for success - it is expecting to post profits of about £4.6 million this year, almost double that of 2004.
