HOUSEMATE Angela became the first person evicted from the Big Brother house in 2005 last night.
The blonde with the big mouth was voted out from a group of four that also included bisexual Geneva, journalist Tim and bad boy Dean.
Angela, 29, made a name for herself by bitching regularly about fellow housemates. Despite trying to make up for her misdemeanours this week with a five-day charm offensive, the public decided it was time for her to go.
Angela was not originally nominated for eviction. However, she found herself in the hot seat when housemate Glenn used a privilege given to him by Big Brother to affect nominations.
After winning the first Friday night games, Glenn was allowed to take three nomination points away from a fellow housemate. He asked for them to be taken from Michelle, thus moving her out of the nomination picture and dropping Angela in it.
That action led to tension between Michelle and Angela, which Angela tried in vain to clear up this week when Michelle confronted her over comments she made about her. "Michelle had an issue about women and that's why she didn't want to befriend women she only wanted to befriend men," Angela said.
Labelled a "princess" by others in the house, Angela emerged from the compound wearing a tiara.
"It's horrible," Angela said of her experience in the house. "It's like school. Everybody was fighting for the back of the bus."
Last week, in an unprecedented move, Big Brother removed two housemates from the Gold Coast compound after it was revealed they had been lying about their relationship status.
Producers had stipulated that all this year's housemates had to be single.
But Constance, a 21-year-old Victorian hairdresser, and Nelson, a 23-year-old assistant manager from Queensland, in fact had partners.
