In the end it ran out easier than predicted-I felt very sorry for Michelle as she was injured AND ill but still insisted on giving it a go.With Victoria ruled out (the weakest Warrior) and Emma B who looked about Michelles level being "absent ill" she had to go against Shauna and stood no chance.Wierdly Shauna had deputised for Crusaders Michelle when she was injured in her previous bout.

In the scheme of things it worked for Kate as with Jenny absent she avoided Annabel in the semi's.But Leilani might be very dangerous in the rematch. With so many incredible injuries on both sides in both sexes it is clear it was real bouts and very competitive-good team spirit was engendered after the original fairly arbitrary split. The key swing in the team event I think was that Kate turned out to be a lot better than expected(she was bracketed with Michelle but turned out on the Jenny/Annabel level)also most injuries weakened the team but Phil for Oliver if anything strengthened the warriors.

Kate not in last week but I thought sending her to the "anger management class" was potentially funny but mainly Marc took it seriously whereas Kate clearly thought it was a load of bollocks and was close to giggles with the loony teacher. She just gets a bit overexcited not angry.

Interview with Joe Legend in the Star -obviously disappointed the ratings wern't a success but thrilled with the competitors dedication. The three pro wrestlers knew it couldn't be a WWF quality show but were determined not to let it diverge too far-the show producers knew little but were amenable to suggestions. However he feels it might have disappointed in the ratings by having the Wrestling tag when it wasn't.

This is what Joe wrote about Kate on his website-legendwrestling.com-"Kate Lawler- Won the UK version of "Big Brother" and unquestionably the
heart and soul of my team. Works harder and smarter than anyone I've met and has a killer instinct that I would bet a lot of boxing trainers would kill for in their charges. A beautiful, warm, intelligent, funny, exciting,
inspiring athlete who improves the lives of everyone who is fortunate enough to meet her. Her boyfriend is a very lucky man and is in a lot of danger if he peeves her off! " ps I think he likes her. ;)

Kate had to endure six months of insinuations about her weight & 'chinese whispers' about drug abuse, plus the fact that travelling to Spain to see her partner was making her feel depressed - yet she still had the strengh of character & resolve to prove herself.

Some of the women, who thought they were 'celebrities', obviously resented Kate taking part because Kate had 'only' won BB - how tiresome.
Annabel took money to call Kate, a woman half the size of a her, a wimp - yet Kate matched her for points & has only been positive about her fellow wrestlers.
I really hope Annabel has apologised.

And thank god, Kate was never part of that dreadful ligging gang - Jeff, Leilani & Michelle.

Lovely words from Joe which sum up why Kate's fans love her so much.

90% of attacks on Kate on BB forums come from bitter Alex fans & can be discounted, though I wouldn't tar all Alex fans with the same brush. Some, like this site's Abba trust their own judgement & remember Kate as she really was.

I knew already... but Joe's words make the Top Ten BB Housemates even more of a disgrace.

Joe wouldn't know this but adding the term 'celebrity' & calling a programme a 'reality tv' show is fast becoming the kiss of death these days.
The best-watched reality tv shows are IACGMOOH, Big Brother & Stictly Come Dancing - & audiences are steadily falling on all three.

I don't think Celebrity Wrestling was produced brilliantly & the format could have been simpler(too much waffle & some of the games were naff) but the majority of the wrestlers took it very seriously & tried to make something of it. If the programme was marketed as 'Gladiators II', it still wouldn't have got a mass audience on a saturday night - especially against Doctor Who.

Big Brother 6 has hit the ground running with the tabloids going mad on it, yet the audience on Tuesday was only 4 million, very low for mainstream BB. The ratings will probably average out at 5 million & phone/text revenue will be high, but this year could see reality tv finished as a mass-watched TV genre.

BTR & the BB panto signed up BB's biggest star/name - Jade - but the programmes still flopped.

Semi-finals
Bad luck to Kate & congratulations to Leilani.
I think Kate misjudged Leilani's strength/stamina & Leilani's tactics beat Kate's spirit & aggression.

Kate was overconfident but didn't focus when she was the stronger person for the majority of sumo-slam. Kate tired herself out & Leilani pushed her off.
Kate was better in ram-rod but again her overconfidence in getting a point was quickly evaporated when she didn't focus again.

I don't think Kate was gracious in defeat but that was more anger at herself. The emotion was incredible to watch.

Kate wanted to win as much as Annabel, Iwan, Jeff & Leilani but as we know by now, Kate isn't allowed to show emotion.

No secret, but we know Annabel(who really wanted it) will probably win.

As for Kate. She tried her best, proved her fitness, was more charismatic than the rest of the wrestlers put together, but as the tiniest there, lacked the strength to win. She'll never go up to 9 stone but if she did she could have got to the final.

Kate was gutted by her defeat and rightly so because she had beaten Leilani before and must have felt confident about he chances in the semi final. All that aside, she lost today well done to Leilani, she deserves her place in the final.

KATE EATS DIRT

I know it’s over but there is a light that never goes out.

Genuinely exiting and surprising day for the semi’s.

First up was Katie and despite looking like the winner in Sumo Slam she allowed Leilani to turn her and roll her over at a crucial moment and couldn’t recover her balance. Nice move and it probably decided the contest. The second event was Ram Rod which was always Kate’s toughest event with chain reaction likely to be her best.0-1 down she needed a quick kill and got it but Leilani had better poise on the push and ran out 2-1 winner in the final moments. Technique failed Kate when she needed it.
Annabel also progressed with good strong technique.

For the boys two great contests.
Phil managed an amazing turnaround in armed and dangerous to take it to a third contest but Iuan’s endurance won out. Maybe one tired slip decided it.

In the biggest upset Jeff used speed strength and technique to pip the major in a really close contest. The moment when he pushed James off the podium and out into space was the single best moment of the event.

In the backwash Kate was very upset initially and crying because she felt she hadn’t been in the zone for the individual as for the team contests. She felt she’d taken Leilani too lightly as she’d beaten her before. After calming down she realised she would rather have lost to someone better and tipped Annabel to win easy. In the end Kate had forgotten her training and Leilani the bigmouth had struck back and had stayed focussed.

Well with Kate gone the heart and charisma has gone but they have arranged a DLo verses Legend bout on Finals day to make up. The Queen is dead and the fat lady has sung. :-(

Well done to Leilani, she was 'in the zone' and deserved her win today - and fair play to her for saying at the end of the match "Don't believe everything you read in the papers about me and Kate, I love her to bits".

Well done Kate, she fought well throughout and was most entertaining.

Finally found time to watch me last tapes. Not very much Kate unfortunately.

D-Lo and Legend served up an interesting aperitif drawing at Sumo Slam after two spectacular throws each and then D-Lo won at the death on Staff and Club battering. It was very tough stuff but I think they had worked the big moves out beforehand. They had a nice girly hug to finish.

ANNABEL v LEILANI
As an aside I loved that bit from an earlier fight when Leilani was vigourously exclaiming on the break stool”but I’m losing I CAN’T be trying hard enough!”ah bless.
Sumo Slam and Leilani surprises everyone with the first push-off-a great throw but Annabel levelled with her trademark technique and edges it 2-1.Chain Reaction is again close and competitive with 2-0 and total victory to Annabel.
Two thoughts-great shame for Annabel to have won it and not got much coverage before or after the programme was screened. However she does enter the hallowed ranks of RTV Hall of Fame Winners. Also great respect for Leilani- in the end for giving Annabel a really tough workout in the final.
One very amusing training clip shown in Annabel’s best moments when they are practising sledging and Kate was screaming in her face”YOUR NAME MAKES ME LAUGH .LIKE I WILL WHEN I PUT YOU ON YOUR BACK “Annabel sort of blinks and responds in a tiny little voice”I have no idea what to say to you” and everyone cracks up after a few moments.

IWANv JEFF

Iwan blasts Jeff off the podium twice with power and in a tight scramble after on the floor Jeff twists his elbow but gallantly continues as Iwan runs the clock down. Jeff needs a lot of strapping but can continue. Unfortunately its armed and dangerous with the staves which places stress on the elbows. Some big pushing technique by Iwan earns him a comfortable 2-0 win for the championship and he gets a huge hug from Katie.
Ditto re Iwan not getting his deserved recognition because of the crap scheduling by ITV1

Interview with Rowdy Roddy Piper-he says he has MORE respect for the celebrities for putting their pride on the line in fierce competitive events compared to the pros he works with mostly. This was more sincere for him.(WOW!)

Joe Legend said his crew ”skunked it” which means won it well apparently.

My Favourite Fight -item on ITV2-the competitors said which was their favourite fight-James v Jeff semi Kate v Leilani semi and Oliver v James opener were the ones mentioned.

Kate rated the Oliver one as it was so brutal she had to look away and realised it was only the beginning. Leilani gloated over her win back over Kate and finally shut her mouth up.Victoria loved watching the Kate/Leilani “two lovely gorgeous buttsworking away”

Some good shots of the After Show Party-Kate looking forward to her first drinks in six weeks and a little worried as she hadn’t eaten much and she knows how she gets sometimes if she occasionally goes for it.Kate showed off her left bicep which had some significant definition extension. She was wearing a lovely grey/pink silk petticoat dress. She had also almost lost her voice as she’d been shouting so much in the Finals-“my voice sounds husky like a man’s now!” Kate also did a good Victoria impression-something about not wanting her Versace boots anymore. Kate said she really really enjoyed herself and gave a joyous little thumbs up as she headed with steely determination toward the bar. :drink:

Worst whinger as a tie between Leilani(nuff said) and Oliver (Ref complaining)-Worst personal habit seemed to be Jeff for bogey picking and flicking and Marc for borrowing other peoples roll-on deodorant. Although Kate did claim to have bit her fingernail and put it in someones food. :D

Big Brother 4 winner Cameron Stout has branded reality TV shows such as Celebrity Wrestling "trash".

He said: "An awful lot of it has nothing to do with reality

People called celebrities wrestling in competition i presume-not reality at all-so not a reality TV show at all either.
i'll assume Cameron didn't say/mean this cos he would be mistaken if he did.

How bizarre - I wonder when and where I spoke to them about it. I don't think I bumped into them this week when I was abroad. Might have been talking in my sleep of course, but considering I was sleeping alone I'd be surprised if anyone had overheard me. Oh well.
