More than 1.5 million people have already texted to be entered into the lottery for Live 8 concert tickets.

Radio and television stations and websites across the country earlier released a special phone number to text along with a multiple choice question.

The question is: The forthcoming G8 summit is being held near which city this July? A) Berlin, B) Moscow, C) Edinburgh. Anyone wanting to have a go has to text A, B or C to the telephone number 84599 before midnight on June 12.

There is no limit to the number of times people can enter but texts cost £1.50 - plus standard network charge - and competitors must be 16-years-old or older.

There are just 150,000 tickets are available for the concert where winners will get the chance to see the likes of Madonna, Robbie Williams and Sir Paul McCartney.

A computer will randomly select lucky winners who will each be given two tickets for the gig in Hyde Park on July 2. For those who miss out it will also be shown on big screens in seven cities across the UK.

Politicians are doing their bit too with Prime Minister Tony Blair flying to Washington for talks with President George W Bush on third world debt relief.

I did as well, £1.50 seems a small price to pay to see the Killers and loads of other very good acts.

yes please - you can't put a price on a line up like what has been announced for this gig...shame that most of them are only going to get about 15-20 mins max on stage

Edinburgh gig at Murrayfield stadium on 6 July looks amazing aswell

I would apply, but they said the Spice Girls may be there, and quite frankly, i would really object to listening to a horrifically talentless, manufactured, bunch of failed solo acts numpties, doing a desperate attempt at saving their pathetic careers, in the guise of charity :D

Thought I posted in this thread, but then decided not to because I worried I may offend with the comment I was going to make on a certain band  Really have to go to bed.

Welcome back Felicity, hope you enjoyed your trip. Bye x

I'm going seeing them at the PROPER Old Trafford on Friday. Like their singles but not really got into the rest of their stuff. Really looking forward to seeing the Zutons and in particular the saxophonist!

Thanks, one of the people I'm going with is getting married the day after so I'm hoping I'm not the one who has to keep him from getting very drunk!!

Bugger, just realised I'll miss Derek getting evicted! Will have to tape that!!!!! :D :D

I'm sure it will be a great stag evening too. ::lol::

Yeah, I would love all of them (Derek, Roberto and Sam) but reckon Derek will get the push. :D

His stag do was last week but was a bit of a disaster as we could only get in one bar in Manchester because we weren't bloody students and he ended up going home sober which I'm sure you'll agree isn't a good stag night! Maybe he'll get another chance on Friday! If not, I'll try for him! ::lol:: ::lol::

Derek should never have been allowed in and has overstayed his welcome, hopefully this week will see the end of this ghastly chap! :D
