Has to be said that if it was a 47 year old man down your street who let teenage boys sleep over in his room, the verdict would've possibly been guilty.

I am nodding in agreement to this ()^

So am I.

I for one believe he is guilty BUT I never thought he would go down for it and thought he would get off on all charges. I think the jury will have been pressured into an answer and I do think all the members of the jury should be asked if they would let their kids stay at Neverland with Jackson, would be interesting to hear their responces.

The eight women and four men who declared Michael Jackson innocent of child molestation charges in Santa Maria, California, earlier today (AEST) said they studied the evidence carefully and were confident of their decision.

"We the jury thoroughly and meticulously studied the testimony and evidence presented," the jury said in a statement read out in court after they acquitted Jackson.

"Following the jury instructions we confidently came to our verdict," they said, adding that they hoped their verdict would be a testament to the American justice system.

The panel also pleaded with the army of more than 1,400 journalists covering the case to respect their privacy amid a media feeding frenzy over the case of the world's most famous defendant.

Judge Rodney Melville gave the panel final instructions and said they could now speak to other people, including the media, about the case as the gag order that has cast a veil of secrecy over the case for one-and-a-half years fell away.

this is my take on it..

First, I never did decide to 'believe one way or the other' about jackson.

With him now fully aquitted and case closed...the massive issue is that logically we are thus forced to assume...

Jackson has once again been the victim of a Grand Conspiracy, involving a number of preteen boys - each of whom has consistantly lied in court over allegations that jackson abused them.

So.....that is what it comes down to...for the supporters of Jackson. They are now forced to stand up and say 'it was a grand conspiracy, involving many many people, including children', with the aim to win as much money as possible.
----

It truly is a dire and sad situation either way.

1. the now free jackson, was indeed the victim of one of the most horrible and nasty conspiracies of all time - which involved many people conspiring together to convict this superstar for sickening crimes, in order to get cash/damages/media attention.

or....

2. A number of abused people have been utterly betrayed by the justice system, the media, and of course Jackson himself.

------------------
I'll leave it at that. Of course, some will say 'ohh, but its not a conspiracy. Huh? It can't be anything else. For those that support Jackson, and endorse today's verdict, the ONLY logical conclusion is that one of the biggest conspiricies against a famous figure has failed.

Calrissian: back to BB.

NOT GUILTY VERDICT IS NO PROOF OF INNOCENCE Sue Carroll

AT THE end of the Michael Jackson trial I asked myself the same question prosecution lawyer Tom Sneddon put to the jury.

If the man next door were in the habit of taking children to his bed, would that bother you?

It would.

Just as it made me uneasy when, during Martin Bashir's controversial documentary on Jackson, 12- year-old Gavin Arvizo nuzzled up to the rock star, who was explaining that it was very "right" to share a bed at night with children.

Suddenly, for 17 million viewers, the "Wacko Jacko" label took on a very different and sinister meaning. After all the hints, rumour and speculation this looked like very real evidence that life at Neverland wasn't quite the fairytale existence it was made out to be.

If it's done nothing else, the 14-week trial has stood that up, exposing a weird, surreal world where hard-core pornographic magazines were as freely available as cuddly toys. Even innocuous cans of Coca-Cola were full of alcohol. Jackson, apparently, can't abide drinking his wine - or Jesus juice as he calls it - any other way.

(A metaphor, if ever there was one, for what you see on the outside being not necessarily what lurks inside.)

His vast wealth is dwindling and, for reasons we can only guess at, his fondness for children doesn't extend to young girls, there were no "special friendships" with them.

He favours, it seems, teenage boys from disadvantaged backgrounds, who are usually of Hispanic origin. Boys, it has to be said, who would never make convincing or articulate witnesses in court.

It really doesn't surprise me that the Arvizo family failed to persuade a jury to take their word against Jackson's.

"Scumbags" is how one American journalist described them to me. It would be hard to argue otherwise. It is perhaps what prompted one juror to say after the trial: "Jackson may well be a child molester, but that wasn't proven in court."

Perhaps not, but I wonder how many mothers in Santa Maria, where the trial was held, or any other town in the world, would feel comfortable about Jackson befriending their son.

Fox News probably reflected the mood of America when, on hearing of Jackson's acquittal, they called him, "The Teflon Molester". Nothing sticks.

Jackson has been cleared but, looking at the damning evidence about his lifestyle, I have to say he is not, in the broadest sense, anything like an innocent man. Mirror

He really hasn't come to terms with being an adult at all has he? He can't bring himself to 'openly' drink alcohol or admit to having any sexuality at all. I wonder if he's so messed up by his childhood that he doesn't want to let it go until he's 'corrected' it and made it a happy one? He's like an addict, nothing will ever be enough for him. One things for sure, jail would have killed him psychologically and physically. I have no idea whether he's actually guilty or innocent but I don't think that sending him to prison would have been in the public interest anyway. If he's guilty he'd just have lost his mind completely and if he's innocent there'd be no point in 'rehabilitating' him. He won't put himself in that position to be accused again anyway I think.

Pleased to meat Jacko dad

A JUROR has told how Michael Jackson’s dad stared menacingly at her across a cold meats counter — but all he wanted was BALONEY.

Supermarket deli worker Paulina Coccoz, 46, was confronted by Joe Jackson just two weeks before the end of the trial. Sun

Singer to flog trial tape

MICHAEL Jackson may profit from his trial by turning private footage of his ordeal into a reality show.

The star — who has a £5.5million legal bill — and his family filmed themselves during the 14 weeks.

Now they hope to sell the footage to a major US TV network for millions.

Tycoon Donald Trump has also offered the singer £50million to perform at his Las Vegas casino.

Yesterday sales of Jacko’s greatest hits album Number Ones soared by 370 per cent in the UK.

But HMV said the huge rise was because they had previously been selling badly.

And last night US TV claimed Jacko was about to quit America for a new life in Europe within a week.

Jacko — thought to be in hiding in Beverly Hills — has already hinted he would like to live in London. Sun

Gavin's 'pain' at acquittal

JACKSON accuser Gavin Arvizo has been “very upset and down” following the singer’s sensational acquittal.

Prosecutor Tom Sneddon said the 15 year old was having trouble accepting the verdicts — and why he was not believed.

The lawyer added: “It’s difficult for any young boy to put his heart and soul on the line in front of the world and to not be believed.

“He did not necessarily want to get involved in this case. It was very painful for him to tell people what had happened to him.”

The jury was equally dismissive of Gavin’s mother Janet. The Arvizos have not been seen in public since the case ended. Sun
