I really don't know, those translators often come out with a heap of rubbish - hence why in French I never ever use them. However when you don't know a word of German they can give you a kind of idea.

I know what you mean Jezi. I once put a translation into Babelfish then translated it back again, the results were hilarious. ::lol::

Right...

HERE is this week's BB6 column.

However, this week they still haven't put up the Saturday column which is strange because it tends to be on the website by Tuesday at the very latest.

I will be gone by Saturday so won't be able to post up the wee summary of the column or anything so if anyone else can manage for that week it will be good and I'll be back in time for the next one.

::lol:: ::lol::

That makes me sound like some kind of machine.

Even if no-one can manage hopefully they'll put up next weeks column on the website, I'll miss reading it :( That makes me sound incredibly sad but anything to brighten up Saturdays is useful sometimes!

By the way for anyone that is trying, the EE's website appears to be a bit mucked up.

I put my town's name in and it came up with nothing and though hey that's a bit weird, then put in Aberdeen and it still came up with nothing in the search bit - then I knew it had to be mucked up ::lol::

In this weeks column there is a bit on how he missed the live 8 concert at murrayfield and caught the last bit of it on his brother's TV due to his flight from iceland being cancelled. He also didn't agree with the language that Madonna had used at the concert held at Hyde Park and that he feels it is important that people who are not into politics got the chance to be involved to help tackle the problems in Africa. There was also a bit on the cruise that he was on and how George McDonald from Scotland The What? was doing some of the entertainment and he was telling him that he had been to see Scotland The What? with his mum and dad and he never understood the doric but he does now. He also had his say on what Jacques Chirac of France had said about british food. There was also another bit on how men can tolerate more pain than women can due to new research.

Hope that sums it up okay for you all.

I can't do links so here is it all sorry!!

BY CAMERON STOUT

16:00 - 09 July 2005
There I was, absolutely high with excitement at the prospect of the Murrayfield Live8 concert - but it all went pear-shaped.

I was to get a flight from Reykjavik - after having enjoyed an Iceland cruise - to Glasgow on Wednesday morning.

I'd been told it was delayed a few hours but reckoned I still had masses of time to get through to Edinburgh.

However, when I arrived at the airport I discovered the flight had been cancelled.

Instead, I had to fly via Heathrow and didn't get into Glasgow until 11pm.

I ended up watching the end of the concert on my brother's TV.

I seem fated never to see Annie Lennox live.

I thought the Hyde Park event was great, a wee bit spoiled for me by Madonna's language.

I'm no prude, but there was no need for that kind of swearing, especially when there were lots of children in the audience.

I don't agree with the people who are whingeing that the concert overshadowed the march.

The concert was arranged long before the march.

There was also criticism that there should have been more political speeches in Hyde Park to highlight the African issues.

But the people who went to the concert were not political.

And that's the whole point - getting the involvement of people who are normally switched off by politics.

As for the G8 summit, I've seen at first hand some of the problems in Africa from my time in Burundi.

The public can tackle poverty by getting involved and ensuring the aid is there.

But it's the politicians who have to tackle the corruption, which is so widespread among some powerful men and even in some charities.

AT ONE point during my Iceland cruise, I could have pinched myself to check if it was real.

I was in the conservatory restaurant for a delicious breakfast, including fresh pineapple, and looking out over the most spectacular volcanic cliffs of Heimaey in the Vestmann Islands.

Man, what a sight.

I expected the scenery to be pretty barren but in fact it was incredibly lush, thanks to the minerals thrown up from beneath the earth.

Everyone on board had a fabulous time - the 400 guests and the 183 crew from eight different nations.

The entertainment was fantastic too. There was a bagpipe player, harpist, cellist, flautist and even pianist George Donald from Scotland The What?

I was telling him how my mum and dad took me to see him, Buff Hardie and Steve Robertson at His Majesty's Theatre many moons ago.

I had struggled with the Doric dialect a wee bit.

But I'd be all right now, having spent so much time in Aberdeen and the North-east in recent years, I understand most of it.

An' I spik it nae affa bad as weel!

I MISSED THE GIG AND MY POP IDOL
