Just heard on the radio. They think there are 1000 injured, 150 of them seriously. Bloody awful.

Yep, definately no accident. I'm in tears over here for everyone involved. Another unspeakable crime against innocent people. Blags, you took the words right out of my mouth too.

33 killed in London terror bombings

More than 33 people were killed in a series of terrorist blasts in London, police said.

Terrorists brought carnage to London with the bomb blasts across the capital, which also injured many more.

There were four confirmed co-ordinated blasts on the Tube network and a bus packed with commuters was ripped apart in what Tony Blair called a "barbaric" string of attacks.

The onslaught was unleashed on the day that G8 world leaders met at Gleneagles.

There were reports that the al Qaida terror network had claimed responsibility for the attacks, which mirrored the vicious assault on Madrid commuters in 2004 in which almost 200 people died.

In the hours afterwards, there was no official death toll from the London bombs, but witnesses saw piles of bodies on wrecked Tube trains and the bus was torn to pieces.

The day of death and chaos prompted the Prime Minister to vow that the terrorists would never win. "Whatever they do it is our determination that they will never succeed in destroying what we hold dear in this country and other civilised nations in the world," he said.

Mr Blair left the G8 summit for London in the wake of the attacks, but the summit would go on.

Before his departure, the G8 leaders appeared side-by-side with Mr Blair to condemn the attacks.

The double decker bus which was ripped apart by a massive blast was packed with people forced off the underground when the network was shut down. Eyewitnesses said there were many fatalities.

I've also read estimates of 'over 40' - I suspect the real figure is in three figures.

I've just got in from work - this may not be the most appropriate place to send a message of sympathy, but I consider all of you to be my friends, and just wanted to send something...

As ive said in my post on the other threads regarding this horror that has happened today, my heart, thoughts, love and prayers are with all the people that have found themselves involved, innocent victims, medical staff, firemen, police and familes of all. I praise the helpers, trained and untrained, that were there for the people who needed help. I am thankful that the people i love are ok and i know thats selfish but it is the way i feel. Most of all, I hope that this never ever happens again.

We all do but we have to face facts, terrorism will not stop.

A series of bomb attacks on London's transport network has killed more than 30 people and injured about 700 others.
Three explosions on the Underground left 35 dead, two died in a blast on a bus and another died later in hospital.

Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said the bombings had "the hallmarks of an al-Qaeda-related attack".

Prime Minister Tony Blair promised the "most intense police and security service action to make sure we bring those responsible to justice".

Mr Blair, who had returned to London from the G8 summit in Gleneagles, condemned the terrorists and paid tribute to the stoicism and resilience of the people of London.

"They are trying to use the slaughter of innocent people to cow us, to frighten us out of doing the things that we want to do," he said in a televised statement from Downing Street.

They "should not and they must not succeed," he said.

"We know that these people act in the name of Islam but we also know that the vast and overwhelming majority of Muslims here and abroad are decent and law-abiding people who abhor those who do this every bit as much as we do," he added.

The Queen, who will visit some of those involved in the tragedy on Friday, said she was "deeply shocked" and sent her sympathy to those affected. The union jack flag was flying at half mast over Buckingham Palace.

Further details of the Queen's visit will be announced on Friday morning.

I wish Al Queda would come to my town, I'd kick their ass. In fact I got a nice black and decker electric power saw. I could quite happily spend a few hours slicing and dicing every one of them.

Those that did the evil acts today...they are going to be in dire trouble once they do die. That is when real justice will prevail.
