Suggest an album you love that never makes the various Top 100 Albums lists that come out every so often.

I'm gonna cheat and recommend two, both by The Kinks. Most of you will be familiar with a lot of Kinks Klassics, but there are many great songs on these albums that you'll love.

Something Else by The Kinks

Both albums are full of little pop gems, every song is different, quirky and very melodic. Ray Davies is one of our greatest songwriters and he is largely unheralded.

You can usually find both these albums in the megastore sales for around £5. A bargain for such for pop brilliance. (The ordinary CDs are on sale because these albums have been reissued with even more additional material.)

This is Brit Pop, forget the pale imitators.

Blind Mans Zoo by the 10000 maniacs from ages back is worth a look.

Slightly obscure but Natalie Merchant did do quite well on her own for a while.

Dashboard Confessional - Places that you've come to fear the most is a fantastic album.

Wishbone Ash - Argus.

Never seen it on a top 100 list or anything but it'll always be top of mine. I can't do it justice in words but if you like classic rock with duelling twin guitars and melody you'll love it. Has a medieval theme and an otherworldly atmosphere that I think only the album cover comes close to portraying.

Alice Martineau - Daydreams.

Probably in my top ten albums ever. I love it. Her songs are so hauntingly pretty, and yet catchy. Her death was a tragic loss. Recommend you all listen to her.
