Its not Craig I'm worried about he IS a bunny boiler :D I was thinking more of the families of those who have lost their children to such a dispicable crime and how they would be feeling to her name being used in jest in that way. However I doubt they would be watching BB anyway thats for us saddos to do ;)

I've got a bit of a dark sense of humour, so that was mild compared to some of the stuff I say

but I see your point about victims families

Yes, I'm no Craig-fan, I know your shocked , but theres got to be a difference between jokes you'd make with friends, and jokes you make on TV!!

Ironic for Craig though, his is vehement reaction may cause the problems hes talking about, if he'd left it, we may not have even seen Ants comment on the main show, or just forgotten about it by now

ho-hum

The thing is, there's probably loads of stuff we say outside, and we might not think that much about it. If someone said this to me, i might laugh it off hesitantly, but i wouldn't start a row over it. It's just when jokes are in very bad taste that i don't think there's any need for them, even though i do know, that some people like these kind of jokes. But well, i don't think it would have been that bad, i mean, they only compared him to looking like her because of the wig. If he had started acting out what she did, then this would be a different story.

I guess its all down to personal taste etc. If it were me I would have mentioned that it was in rather bad taste and left it at that but Craig throws a hissy fit over everything so his reaction is to be expected I suppose. Not that I saw it but I can guess

Big brother musn't have thought it was that bad anyway, they decided not to take this out of the "live feed".

I don't think that saying someone looks like Myra Hindley because of a wig they are wearing is grounds for upset.

Poor Anthony had to cope with Derek telling him that he looked like Tony Blackburn in his! Now that's upsetting!!! ::lol:: ::lol:: ::lol::

Mind you - for some of us on these boards, we didn't even need the wig to come to the same conclusion!!! ::lol:: ::lol::

I don't understand how the joke was offensive either, like darkhawk76 said...all Ant said was that a wig made him look like her, wheres the harm?

we all say things from time to time that perhaps we shouldn't but all I'm saying is joking about it on national tv was a little innapropriate. If my children had been murdered and recorded crying for their mummy while it happened then personally I wouldn't want to hear jokes about the woman that did it Thats all ()^

HC - I totally get what you mean.

But you have to consider that to Anthony, those particular crimes were in the dark ages (i.e. when I were a lass....), and it was an off the cuff remark.

It's got to the stage where we can't say ANYTHING without causing some people some kind of offence. I have come to hate political correctness, and think that people should learn not to take offence where none is intended.

People joke about Hitler all the time. There was nothing funny about what he did - but people are flippant about him. It happens.

yes I agree re political correctness I hate it myself. I dont want to sound like I am a totally hard-nosed cow with no sense of humour because I'm not :D I'm sure Anthony meant no harm by it but I'm just saying personally I think people could be offeneded by jokes about child murderers and thats better than being offended by some of the other petty shite people get up in arms about!
