Day 65, 11:46
channel4
Orlaith has fled, and Kemal is no more. Now Makosi, Big Brother's sole surviving female, has dressed in black, possibly to mark the end of the era of divas.
There was a time of tiaras, malicious gossip and fabulousness, when the clatter of stilettos and cries of "dahling!" filled the air. But now the age of the diva could well be over.
Kemal's departure, in a flurry of emerald sari and shouts of "baby dolls!" was bad enough. But now demi-diva Orlaith has fled, Makosi is making a solo stand for divas across the land.
The lady marked the passing of her friends by wearing a simply divine black dress and headscarf combo, set off with daringly garish yellow stilettos.
She then calmly sat in the living area and painted her talons, erm, sorry, nails.
It remains to be seen if Makosi will be able to infect the remaining Housemates with the diva spirit. Derek's halfway there, but we fear Eugene may prove an insurmountable obstacle to fabulousness.
Then again, the spirit of the diva is a force to be reckoned with.
Viva La Diva!
Take A Chant On Me
Day 65, 12:10
The familiar sounds of chanting and pinging filled the living area this morning, but it wasn't the ghost of Kemal but meditation newcomer Derek who was to blame.
Kemal frequently turned to meditation in times of stress in the House, and passed the technique on to willing Padawan Derek.
Cross-legged on the floor, Derek chanted for a good five minutes pausing only to ping a teacup with a spoon, presumably making up for the absence of ceremonial bells and cymbals in the House.
The ritual may also have been a moment for Derek to reflect on absent friends, he and Kemal developed a close bond in the last few weeks.
We're going to assume that Derek was not meditating on Orlaith's departure; it's vital to keep those negative thoughts at bay when meditating Del Boy!
