Um... I think that goes without saying hon! My Kick-boxing instructor is a devout Christian and he complains bitterly that everyone expects so much more of him as a Christian. He says that no other faith gets as much pressure to be 'perfect people' as Christians do. I don't agree with him but I do see his point. Walk a mile in his shoes and all that...

Before a fight we do a Ram Muay ( ceremonial movements, bit like a kata, a personal ritual, ranging from very complex to very simple, often contains clues about who trained the fighter and where the fighter is from)

Anyway when he is in the ring before a fight his Ram Muay is a Christian one, as far as I know that's never been done by anyone else. He shows the traditional respect to Buddha, but he ends his Ram Muay by kneeling and praying to God to show that he may be a Kickboxer but he is always a Christian. It's really moving to watch. sorry did I go off thread again! How did we get from Kinga's antics to this?

I agree with him. There is a very high expectation placed on christians not only from themselves but also from non christians and christians alike. I know that some christians think I'm a bad one because word gets back to me. I think its hilarious, how are they any better than me when they are judging me in the first place? Unless of course God went and put them in charge without telling me

I know what you mean HC, and I do agree there is a lot of pressure put on Christians but many of my friends are from all over the world, all different cultures and religions and I see the pressure put on them by their families and peers. I think with re: to Christianity it's the non-Christians who give pressure that for example non-Muslims don't give to Muslims. I can't speak about the peer-pressure from other Christians but from what I hear that can be very strong. It's true what you say about them judging you too. Take out the plank in your own eye to better see the mote of dust in another's etc...

I'm not surprised. Most religious people I know are hypocrites. Now I'm not saying the ones on this board are, but definitely the people I know are.

What I was trying to say is that it seems crazy for people to set themselves up as judges of others - and for people who consider themselves to be Christian -( i.e. followers of someone who had far more time for people whom the 'righteous' condemned) to behave like that is just wrong.

Of course, there has to be certain rules - if Makosi was to start murdering people, then it would make perfect sense for the 'church members' to try to change her behaviour , and if she was to ask them for advice or guidance, that's a different matter.

Something I heard a long time ago, has stayed with me - that God sees more than any human can, and knows and understands the reasons for people's behaviour. So to spend time condemning others - or even ourselves, is futile.

Hi HC hope you enjoyed "Faith" it was down the road from me. didnt go this year , but have in past years. Quite right people do expect more of christians than non, what they cant see is that as christians we are all trying to achieve at that it teaches not that we are that already. The phase I typed and erased was that as a practising christian reflectivly it was the best one as that is precisly what we are practising . We have faults more than others possibly are are fully aware of them . and try to improve.
We critisise makosi as she seems unaware that she has broken nearly every rule in the book, has no conscience at all at all the lying, bitching and nastiness and unpleasantness for others she has caused, nothing to say she cant make ammends but it makes a mockery of christianity. On national tv.

'Her bible' - would that be the bible according to Makosi I wonder....well she does speak in tongues, forked tongues.
