And the smallest city in Britain is St David's, Wales.
Southwell, Notts, often makes a claim to being the smallest city in England as it has a cathedral but it's not officially recognised (except by the local football team and a few locals!)

Am wondering having said that if Swindon is bigger than Reading.I can;t really think of any bigger towns(and am too lazy to google)
