off the top of my head I can only think of Sophie and maybe at a stretch Anna

every other HMs seems to have a massive pro & anti fanbase

okay maybe I should have phrased that better

HMs that don't necessarily bring out a bad reaction from viewers/forum members.

ie - if someone made a positive statement about them, there wouldn't be a load posts slating that HMs (due to some awful character trait).

I don't think Sophie inspires negative feelings among people "I couldn't that Sophie did this" "she was nasty" etc etc

maybe Cameron/Scott/BB5 Stuart would also fit into this category, but I'm sure I've seen posts slating them (whether fairly or not)

does that make sense ${

at a rough guess I'd say probably not - that is the whole point of having different types of personality in the house. Though I think BB2 Brian Dowling gets pretty close to being liked by most people.

I really liked Scott and I think that Cameron has had a lot of undeserved flak.

It's hard to think of anything that Steph did wrong, either, but a lot of people didn't like her.

Sophie did my head in. I couldn't watch her, but that's just my personal opinion. I don't think there is such a thing as a universally liked HM.

Anna usually comes out well in these type of debates. And Brian got acclaim from almost all quarters. (Oh, would you look at that, they are both Irish ::lol:: ).

But probably Marjorie was most universally liked - and she is the only 'HM' I've ever seen in the flesh/feathers, I couldn't forget her.

I've seen a few posts slating Brian and Helen annoyed a fair few people

at worst Sophie was very dull and pined too much for Lee, but then she got him in the end (so maybe she got what she wanted)

the reason I started this post, was the number of threads that have sprung up in the last few weeks supporting various HMs. None that I've seen haven't prompted masses of people to slate whoever was being praised

it just made me think, was there ever a HMs who didn't prompt hordes of people to slate them - I could only think of Anna & Sophie

Awww, Tyrone Tom.

He seemed like a really decent, honest chap.

Nowadays he would be considered VERY dull, though.

Aww he wasn't dull ...just not a freak :-?

Too many freaks nowadays if you ask me. From the past winners you'd think they'd realise that that's not what most people want.

I would say that on the whole Jade has been the most popular past and present. She is the only housemate to make more than a million and she is always in the tabloids, so obviously people want to read about her. She has enduring appeal because of her girl nextdoor personality (no pretension) and the fame doesn't seem to have affected her.
