THE odds on Eugene winning Big Brother shortened to outright favourite as the News went to press yesterday (Tuesday). Ladbroke's were quoting 8-11, as against 4-1 earlier.

And in a bid to keep the bandwagon rolling, Eugene's family have launched a poster campaign to ensure their beloved boffin stands tallest in the house.

The Crawley contender, famed for throwing TV sets from clifftops and recording the sound, beat witty Tory speech writer, Derek, to the final five this week.

Mum, labour county councillor Janet Sully, could not bare to watch the nerve-wracking eviction whereas big brother, Greg, travelled to the Big Brother house last Friday with eight supporters in tow.

Greg is now heading the Vote Eugene campaign and has been busily designing posters for Crawley residents to display in windows and wear as T-shirts.

Greg also predicted his brother would be astounded with his sudden rise to fame.

"He will be shocked at how famous he has become," he declared. "He has no idea at the moment.

"The first week will be overwhelming because he will not know what's going on.

"What I would say to people is to tone it down when you see him in Crawley."

Janet was similarly concerned at how the 27-year-old radio engineer was going to cope with sudden stardom.

"Whatever happens he will be in the public eye for a while," she said.

"He wants to try becoming a presenter and it would be good to see if he likes it."

"There is a risk celebrity will go to his head, but this is something he must avoid like the plague."

I could be very wrong but, i'm not sure Eugene will win big brother 6. The man hardly talks, the only people that's decent in the house, and talks are Kinga and Anthony, the rest, hmmn.
