Nadia - absolutely fabulous, entertaining and glamourous, deserved every penny of the prize money and an almighty **** you to homophobes and bigots everywhere
How can being appalled that Nadia won be classed as homophobic or bigoted?
She is a woman who fancies men? Where's the room for the anti-gay prejudice in that?
Or do you see still see her as a gay bloke Bunny?
I didn't want Nadia to win because she was a loud, obnoxious, nicontine-crazed brat. She was part of 'Idiots Inc.', the group of Emma, Marco, Michele and Stuart. Her best moments were her rows with Jason. She alone had the guts to stand up to the prat. But overall, I thought she was a poor choice as a winner, based on WHAT SHE DID IN THE HOUSE, not what she had been through/was going through in her life.
And yes, I was angry that she won because I felt that viewers were voting for her out of a condescending sympathy. My anger was more at the viewers than at her, much as it is now with the Eugene travesty.
When Nadia won she came out and said 'thank you' for the acceptance. It was touching and I was pleased for her, but I think it was unfair on the other contestants. Many of whom had been better HMs. Nadia won because of her situation, Eugene is going to win for being a geek with poor social skills. And if he has Asperger's so what? He's happy, he's successful, his life isn't a failure, he doesn't need a sympathy vote.
And while Nadia had the guts to go through with the operation and even to go no national TV, it wasn't fair not to let the others know and then to unconsciously milk her life situation to win. She knew what she was doing, and she played the victim in the Diary Room. She should have won as Nadia, the person, not Nadia the woman who was mistakenly born a man.
If someone in a wheelchair enters BB, and I doubt we'll ever see that (it would be seen as tokenism anyway) I'll want them to win only if they are a brilliant HM and not because they are in a wheel chair. Or if a HM is blind or they have a limb missing.
I wanted Victor to win BB5, I couldn't care less the colour of his skin. I wanted Brian to win BB2, I didn't care what his sexuality was. They were for me, brilliant HMs. I liked Craig this year and was entertained by Derek and appalled by his behaviour but never his sexual orientation.
Just because some of us didn't like Nadia winning, please don't assume we are homophobic. You don't know me, or who my friends might be.
You are right about Kate though, Bunny, she was awful.
And STILL no Rince!! Are you alive mate?

Maybe he's tucked up in bed with Freddy Flintoff right now.
Bloody pair of poofs!!!
