Celebrities will go to almost any lengths to entertain us, including being packed off to the jungle and even acting as shark bait.
But the stars of
Trust Me – I’m A Holiday Rep face one of reality TV’s sternest challenges yet… actually doing some hard work!
The show sees six famous faces swap their showbiz lifestyles for the daily grind of being a holiday rep.
Taking part in the series are glamour girl Jodie Marsh, broadcaster Nina Myskow, comedian Syd Little, Scott Wright – who played mechanic Sam Kingston in Corrie – Make Me A Supermodel babe
Jasmine Lennard * (see previous story) and ex-pop heart-throb Jordan Knight.
After a crash training course, they must carry out all the duties expected of hard-working reps for 10 days, including airport meet-and-greets and arranging bar crawls.
There’s no winner and no voting out, but at the end of their stint, travel industry professionals will judge their efforts.
Will any of the six have what it takes to be a real holiday rep?
“There’s plenty of traumas and tantrums!” promises model Nancy Sorrell who, with DJ Toby Anstis, presents the show from Ayia Napa in Cyprus over the next two weeks.
Nancy, who took part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year, is glad to be only presenting the show.
“Being a rep is hard work,” she warns. “They’re up at 2am for airport runs, have to wear unflattering uniforms and look happy the whole time – I could never do it.”
Some of the contestants really surprised her.
“I remember Jordan as a New Kids On The Block pin-up – now he is a real family man and such a sweet guy,” says Nancy, 30, who lives in Kent with comedian husband Jim Moir – aka Vic Reeves.
“And Jodie is outrageous. In one game she gets up to fake an orgasm – it was so embarrassing I couldn’t watch!”
Nancy hopes to do more TV work in the future, but she has a different priority.
“Jim and I definitely want children,” she reveals. “It’s just taking longer than we thought!”
