I dont think many people would turn their noses up at 50 grand..
if he had he would have been called a stupid idiot, so whatever he did he would have got slagged off.
I am getting very tired at his crying over everything..he needs to get a grip

I would soooooooooooo have taken the money! Whatever the moral argument, in my opinion, Eugene was brave enough to go into the diary room when all of them assumed it was going to be an eviction move. He deserves it :D

It is pretty irrelevent arguement about "brave enough to go to diary room in the first place"he was closest and he was on his way sharpish-there was no discussion at the time of any significance-he said "is it alright if I go"-he wanted to go(I don't know if they had agreed earlier).I don't value the arguement for Makosi say earlier who decided to do everything where possible.

One of my friends likened the choice very closely to whether you would keep a wallet/purse of cash if you found one on the street.I would always hand it in-maybe some people here wouldn't.Disappointing.

But Vilt he wasn't closest. Makosi was and was standing up. The others were all sitting down. She made a move for the door but then hesitated and Eugene said 'Shall I go'.

Fair enough but as I say in my view it's irrelevant to the choice he had.Someone could justify keeping money they found on the pavement because they'd had a bad day or it was fate.

in answer to the question

I'm in two minds

one - I'd love the money and £50k would be a tidy sum

two - I could play a blinder by being "selfless" in the hope it would con the viewers to vote for me more.

yes that sounds mega cynical, but then if I went on BB it wouldn't be "for the experience".

I would do all I could to make sure I win the prize, even stabbing my "friends" in the back.

BB lost it's innocence after BB3 ended, so why pretend that you're just there for the fun of it

I don't think i would have took the money to be honest. I would have just left it to be won, and anyway, i would have know that i could probably make a lot more than that on the outside anyway, and i would still had total respect of the housemates. Them lot being so close to the final are going to make loads of the stuff, with photo shoots, newspaper interviews, and whatever else there is. Eugene could have had his cake and eaten it, but instead, he chose to take the money, ah well.

If this is about the money being offered in the diary room, then Makosi would have took it without any hesitation, and she would have gladly kept it from the housemates. This is one person i would not want to get to know in real life, for her selfishness and lies, amongst other things.

I don't think I would have taken it. The idea of being 'given' so much money in that situation seems wrong to me - I know it is a game, but the prize money is supposed to be for the person the public deems to be 'the winner' - if I had been Eugene last night - I would have thought that I could possibly make that much money when I left anyway and would have done the right thing and walked away.

It left a nasty taste in my mouth last night, I was shocked that he took the money - I convinced he would say no! Shows how much I know! ::lol::

FFS He would get slagged off no matter what he did and I firmly believe he thought he was going anyway so he might as well take some of it. I think Eugene thought he didn't have a cat in hells chance of getting this far never mind winning and I would imagine his reaction was partly due to shock.

while I am surprised at his decision I still say walk a mile in his shoes before you slag him off people. He was faced with a choice under difficult circumstances and he took one that no one else wanted to take. hence the reason he was in the diary room in the first place.

Makosh*t can sit there and calmy say she wouldn't take the money because she knows full well she can make twice that on the back of a 'I shagged Anthony in the pool' story. Same for Anthony.

The piousness of some is making me want to puke.

The thread asks us for our opinion and we are giving it.. just because some people's opinions are not the same as your opinion doesn't give you the right to judge us or be insulting HC.
