the gormless pratt eugene was clearly only thinking of himself , as he's done since he went in the house. continually talking about himself, blubbing about himself and grabbing the cash first chance he got- all perfect examples of a extremely selfish individual

HURRAY!

At last something fms can get their collective teeth into after almost eleven weeks!

Having said that, I can't quite believe the extent of the emotion surrounding Eugene's decision to take the money.

Even though I expected Eugene not to take the cash, it made me sit and think about it once he had. I'm certain that Eugenius would have thought about it logically and methodically. It would have been an enormous decision and something that would have taken some strategic thinking.

Compare it to the tea and cakes issue that upset him so much. There was a DEFINITE housemate that was going to 'lose out' if Eugene took the tea and buns - Eugene didn't want to single her out, although his fellow housemates all had.

I think if Eugene had had to decide between taking half the money thereby causing a specific housemate to lose out, he wouldn't have done it. The very fact that it was an IMpersonal decision whereby he gained without any one particular person actually losing out would have made it a whole lot easier.

[Also compare being voted out by the public at large vs being voted out by your fellow housemates.]

Why did you expect him not to take the cash?
(One observation is he only had 60 seconds to think and they did confuse him a bit by not clarifying whether he left or not)

It wasn't really impersonal because someone will be the winner in 48 hours time and he will have deprived them of half the expected money.(On the makosi tea thing I thought that was silly-Makosi was ok just making a drama of it and they could save her some-as they did the pizza)

I think that aspect of Eugene is different from the equivalent 'selfish' part of Crai-aig's character though. Eugene does it as a result of thinking about the other housemates before himself, that's not something that Crai-aig (much as I like him) would do.

Eugene didn't really grab the cash hippo, come off it. Eugene would have deliberated and gone through some kind of mental methodical process to come up with taking the cash. Selfish perhaps, thinking that he wouldn't win (probably incorrect in his thinking all the same) and saying that there could be two winners. Who knows the pressure on that question? Not I nor anyone else. Must have been tough.

It was general, rather than personal to one individual, that's why I mean it would have been easier. He hasn't necessarily deprived anyone of that money - there is no promise that the winner will receive a guaranteed sum - not only that, but he may well still walk off with the other half of that sum.

If I had been Big Brother, I would have ordered the housemates to bring the stuff they'd kept for Makosi back to the diary room before releasing her.

But why did YOU expect him NOT to take the cash-you didn't answer that?

I didn't expect him to take the cash

this was based on what he did on Saturday, by letting Makosi out of the cage. I thought that he'd think it unfair on the eventual winner

possibly what Cameron thinking

I didnt expect him to take the cash...but I think he thought he would be evicted if he took it thus giving someone else the opportunity to win.
He strikes me as a decent guy tbh...

Oh,and those of you who knock him...a psychologist would reckon that in the people we dislike the most we see the characteristics we dislike most about ourselves.....

Oops.

Probably because I hadn't thought it through with Eugene-like method and reasoning.

It's never safe to assume we know what somebody else is thinking imo, but if we look at Eugene's possible thoughts...

If I don't take the money, people will think I'm stupid.

If I don't take the money, people will think I'm brave.

If I don't take the money, people will think I'm kind.

If I don't take the money, people will think I'm selfless.

If I take the money, people will think I'm honest.

If I take the money, people will think I play dirty.

If I take the money, people will think I'm selfish.

If I take the money, someone else will still receive £50,000, so I'm probably a combination of the above but I can live with that in the sense of fairness that 60 seconds has afforded me to ponder these options.

Well i can tell you now, that's a load of b******s. These psychologist's don't know what they are talking about. I don't hate Makosi because i'm manipulative, or a liar, or the fact that i'm a bitch. They are forgetting one thing these masterminds, everybody's minds are different. They are always saying stuff like this, they seems to think they know everything.
