This year's winner of Big Brother, Anthony Hutton, is heading for the West End now that he has left the famous house.

He is set to star in a production of Saturday Night Fever at London's Apollo Theatre, reports The Star.

Anthony's love of dancing came though on the reality TV show as he boogied his way through the days in the house.

When he left the house for the last time, he posed for the crowds, pointed finger in the air, John Travolta-style.

Now his efforts seem to have paid off.

"It'd be mint to get a part in Saturday Night Fever," he told the paper.

"I had hoped that folk would have seen my dancing on Big Brother and maybe someone might invite me for an audition," he added.

If the whole dancing thing doesn't work out for him, Anthony could always marry Craig, his adoring friend from Big Brother.

Bookmakers are offering odds of 100/1 that the loveable Geordie and his sidekick will wed in a gay marriage ceremony.

I'll be horrified if he gets offered a part in this or any show. The dancing standard in Saturday Night Fever is WAY above the displays we saw from Anthony. Also, I'd imagine he's too short. Let's hope it doesn't happen as it would be a huge insult to those dancers who have dedicated their lives to training properly in order to make it and who miss out on a part because of this muppet.

If ever there was a Newcastle-based production of "The Wizard Of Oz", he'd be perfect as a Munchkin.

..squeek's a bit and doesn't do much else.

Evil-Eva you make a decent point. Sadly or not, depending on your point of view, well-known names put bums on seats when it comes to theatre etc., otherwise the phenomenon would have died out as quickly as it appeared.

Jason Donovan was in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - he's both talented and was already well-known for something other than 'theatre' per se. Anthony is well-known and I guess relatively talented in dance, so someone may well employ him in a dance-based show.

It is no doubt disappointing for hard-working, talented, long-suffering professionals in whatever line (TV presenting, journalism, modelling etc.) but that's the way it goes these days.

Blame TV or thank TV, YOU decide lol.

I used to work in theatre and it drove me mad then that micro-celebs could be considered for a role without the casting people having a clue as to their talent or otherwise. I do think that for something like singing or dancing, it takes a hell of a lot more training than it does to go into modelling or even TV presenting (Fearne Cotton anyone?). As for journalism, I can see the wisdom of former housemates putting their name to BB/reality TV related columns, even if they are ghost-written by someone with a vocabularly of more than 5 words. But if Anthony turned up for Saturday Night Fever without Big Brother behind him, he wouldn't even get an audition and to be honest, I'll be very surprised if we see him on the West End stage any time soon!

sweeping up, or selling Kia-Ora's and choc-ices , maybe. :-?

He may get a job at Xmas, as a pantomime horse. ()^

He would be up the front end, with Craig being up the @rse end.

That is probably true. The whole celeb-name being on the billboards undoubtedly draws people who might not otherwise go and see a production. The actual figures and influence would be difficult to judge. For me it would have very little effect, though if it was somebody ultra-special I might just do it.

It leads to another, perhaps bigger question. Is there anything wrong with reality tv people making the most of the opportunities they're offered?

I don't think so, Cameron.

Go for it, if you want it.

Absolutely nothing at all. My issue is with muppets in casting who would even consider offering Anthony something based on a few ridiculous dance moves and some (largely) teeny popularity. If he is offered, I wouldn't blame the oompah loompah for jumping at the chance and good luck to him.

I totally agree with your opinions Evil_Eva. As Cameron said it pays well to have a celebrity it puts "bums on seats". :-?

If Anthony does get the part I'm sure he's already secured the other 50k he lost out on to Eugene.
