VIEWERS' BLAST AT DAVINA

Aug 16 2005

BIG Brother bosses have received 450 complaints over Davina McCall's eviction interview with Makosi Musambasi.

Davina showed little sympathy for Makosi as the crowd outside the BB house booed and heckled her on Friday night.

Makosi said she was disgusted that the presenter did not support her when hostile onlookers screamed: "Liar, liar".

Instead of calming the baying crowd, Davina told Makosi: "I can't believe you're showing no remorse."

Makosi had been accused of lying about having sex with BB winner Anthony Hutton.

The official Big Brother online fan site also blamed Davina for failing to control the crowd.

A spokesman for TV regulator Ofcom said: "We are now looking into those complaints

People are never happy are they? I know they're bound to be 'other' people, but some folk think Davina's not nearly ""controversial"" enough when it comes to interviewing the evictees and then you have this outcry when she is exactly that. I suppose people who aren't happy that she doesn't push wouldn't contact the channel and complain, wouldn't they not why so not wouldn't not they?

As I have said I think the treatment of Makosi at her interview was shameful and Davina did nothing to try to calm the crowds when she was perfectly able to over Derek who I was under the impression was equally hated ????

Total bias, I wish I had complained now ()^

I did consider it. I complained about Jerry Springer the Opera being shown on tv and you applauded that too in your column! Then you said you would have booed at Makosi. Oh how different we are :D

btw complaining about JS was greeted with the dismissiveness I expected. If I was to complain about BB I think the bottle/kinga incident would need a mention too!

When the interview was going on with Makosi, Davina should have told/asked the crowd to keep quiet. Not just for Makosi, but for us at home as well. IF i had saw the whole interview, i don't want to hear morons in the crowd spoiling it for me, i want to hear what Makosi had to say. But as usual, some people with only maybe 2 brain cells at the most, always take things a little too far.

What possible grounds are there for Ofcom geting involved?

Makosi was always going to get booed, and probably does as she walks down the street. Davna's job is to make the sort of TV that people talk about, she's not there to be fair, unbiased, or to do crowd control - and as this thread shows, she's doing that very well.

I'm amazed some of those complainants didn't call the police when they saw the crowd call Makosi a liar ! Shock, horror, housemate gets booed.

*heard Makosi on BBC radio'1 this morning, once again third person referencing herself. She just seems very detached from herself, and will probably end up in the gutter sooner or later..only to then blame drink and other drugs for her downfall. I guess she might even blame C4/Endemol.

Calrissian: Don't boo him

I don't think there was anything wrong with the interview. Davina didn't show any sympathy to her, but neither did Markos deserve any with the way she approached the interview and what she said in it.

I am by no mean a fan of Davina, but she was not in the wrong on this one.

Utterly pathetic, I hope each one of those people gets reminded this time next year that it's thanks to them no crowds are allowed at evictions any more and everything is filmed rather than live.

I wonder if I can complain to Ofcom about the morons that ruin TV shows by complaining about idiotic things.

I agree with Starlet about people complaining, they just seem to complain about the stupidest of things. Kinga and the bottle incident, the video clip that i was watching, she was in the steated area, and had the bottle up her rear end, but you couldn't see this at all. And the part where she was in the garden, this was from a fair distance, so nothing was clear at all. Basically complaining about things you couldn't even see. It was all things that you would probably see on euro trash anyway.

It was a lame attempt at humour, based on the number of 'negatives' already existing in the sentence. It didn't read that well but I couldn't be bothered re-wording it, so just carried on with the nonsense... didn't I not?
