Just wanted to say, had a conversation recently where I mentioned that I'd once been knocked off my bike by a lorry and my cycling helmet was split in half... so if you ride a bike then wear a damn helmet! I'm serious! Made you look tho! If I hadn't worn a helmet that day then I'd be dead and you wouldn't have the dubious joy of listening to me whine on about helmets! take care peeps, ffs wear a helmet

And I'll note your warning - must get that bike out of the shed in the next few days. Around here, most people don't wear helmets, but it's true, they can be life-savers.

I never bother wearing a helmet, maybe because i just stick to the paths instead Have been out on the bike tonight, and there were a bunch of lunatics in cars probably doing something like 80mph on a 50mph road. Wouldn't like to imagine what would have happened to me if they had whizzed passed me I think i would have suddenly developed a temporary case of diarrhea.

On 6. grade I once forgot my helmet to school and had to ride my bike home without it. My mum was really angry and thought I had forgotten it purpously

I suppose if you ride on the road then you should maybe wear one, but if you stick to the oaths, then there's not really the need to wear one. Being on the road even in the countryside where i live, there can still be some lunatics in cars, so it's best to ride with a helmet on. I've never been a fan of riding on the road, i feel very uncomfortable being on it. Infact, i would go as far as to say worried. If there was a rule that said you HAD to ride on the road no matter where you lived, i would give up the bike rather than start and ride on the road.
