I've just started a short story collection by Anais Nin. The way she writes, oh it's incredible! Propably not the best material to be reading at my current state, but I can hardly put it down when I pick it up...

My Dad (who is in his seventies) rang me up before and said he felt that he had had a very disappointing day.. I asked why and he said 'I just finished Harry Potter - I didn't want to read the last chapter but I sat down and read it - I feel terribly sad' - Bless! Anyone who has read it will know what I am referring to here ... {@}

I was reading through a forum that is mostly used by teenagers and just randomly opened some thread about Harry Potter. Someone had written something about the chapter that is propably the most important one in the book and revealed what happens. F*ck these kids, they've never heard about spoilerwarnings? And f*ck me, I should know better! Now the book is ruined for me before I've even opened it myself. I'm so p*ssed off :8o:

Oh no that is so annoying!!!! :eek: :evil: There is more to it than that one thing though so still read it!!! I thought it was a really good read, lots more info in there and the 'jigsaw' is falling into place... terribly sad in parts though :-? I spoke to my Mum just now and she said my Dad is convinced that a certain person is going to 'rise again' ::lol:: Bless - I love my Dad @^@

Oh I hope so!! I still wouldn't miss it for the world. HP's are the only books I really look forward to, I love them. I thought about getting it in english 'cause lord knows how long I'll have to wait for the translation, but for now I'll wait. I've read them all in finnish and the translation is really good.

I have just started 'Between A Rock And A Hard Place' by Aron Ralston. It is the true story of a man who went climbing and fell and caught his arm in a rock. After being stuck for 5 days he finally cut his arm off with a pen knife :eek: and survived and infact is pictured on the front cover with a piece of climbing equiptment attached to his false arm. Amazing story.

This proved to be a most fascinating story of survival and well worth reading but if you are squeemish and think you may bork at the thought of an amputation with a blunt penknife may I suggest you dont read pages 282-285.

:D

I've just finished How Will I know? by Sheila O'Flanagan, and have just started the new Tony Parsons novel: Stories we could tell. I love his books.

I've just started reading my very first book in english :eek: It's Dan Brown's Angels and demons, I wanted to read it because I loved the Da Vinci Code.

I've tried reading books in english before, but found it quite hard up untill now. I haven't tried it for years and now, much thanks to you guys, it looks like it's not a problem at all! I'm actually reading it pretty much like I'd read a book written in finnish; I don't translate it, I just understand it. But then again, I guess that's how I've been using the english language for a long time now.

I love it, I'm so proud of myself :D

The estonian language is very similar to finnish. It's the closest language there is to ours, so to your ear finnish propably sounds pretty much the same as estonian :D
