People that have nothing better to do then point out the flaws in your life.

gg and cameron: do you really know people that hasn't never ever taken advantage of anybody? I guess that you two has done it as well someway, somehow, somewhere since your childhood. But I agree that it's good to see the subject in a critical way, because it spreads otherwise a lots of selfishness and other negative manners.

I'm really proud of that my present working 'career' didn't include when it started any advantages taking process (hardly no-one knew me by then in this municipality) - later there have been people that have been speaking favour of mine (because of way they knew how I do my work) - but only the way that I have heard it happening afterwards. But I must admit that one reason I did have last week, when I accepted to make an interview about my work to a newspaper, was that it'll spread out certain knowledge (about healthy hobbies such as certain exercising) in my area. And that made me think that when I sometimes personally call to newspapers and ask them to make a story to their papers of current interests - I do take advantage of them - but we all are supposed to do so in our work. ;)

:8o: People that think that they are better than other people on this planet earth. :8o:

Those type of people are usually identifying with their own shortcomings....
If we look we can all find things we can improve on but we all have something to celebrate about ourselves :D
(Just writing a PSHE lesson plan...can't you tell!!??).....

People who let injustices continue :-? :8o:

I know this. And it's so important to find those things every once in a while.

People who just don't care.

The penny is beginning to drop - Teachers have a very stressful job!

Oh dear, - I've dug a bit of a hole for myself over my 'not real people' and 'taken advantage of ' comments.

Just to clarify (and I realise I'm boring you now), in general, and perhaps because of my advanced years, I tend to believe that people are better than we think - and very often, they are. If people are being awkward, there's often a reason for it, that even they might not understand.

But when someone knows that I've given them more than a fair chance, and then they throw it back in your face, just for fun - it's annoying. People who get their kicks causing trouble aren't nice. And while I believe they have a right to exist, if they abuse me - in my space - then that does wind me up!

There are things behind people's actions we often have no clue of. For example (especially here in Finland) people tend to look at their neighbours and judge them according to their behaviour; if the don't say hello every time they see you, they must think they're better than you and think that you're scum. They don't even stop to think that they might be shy, tired, sick or just don't notice you. Some people are just not that comfortable in social situations, it doesn't mean they're impolite.

We all need each other's help, but imo that's certainly not taking advantage. Taking advantage means that someone gets hurt in the situation.

Couldnt agree more. What I hate is making overtures(and perhaps because my background isnt roses round the gate I do it WAY too often)..and getting it thrown back.Sometimes I want to say to peeps hey..you're not the only one with probs but we don;t all have to become scummy idiots because we've got problems.
Because of my age and experience..I find it really hard to believe nobody has redeeming characteristics..I firmly believe is no such thing as a saint or someone wholly evil. That doesnt mean(as has been said) I'm making excuses for people..I'm not.I firmly believe that those of us who can SHOULD for the sake of a decent world.I have experience. It makes me feel good to think I can make a difference(yes it smacks of co-dependency but for that I will never apologise) .If I can help someone cos of my experiences I will...but if they dont want my presence is nothing I can do about it...and only so long I will try for.

Phew.Rant over now!
