Our Primary School never did any languages at all; which is something I wished they had done. I find picking up languages quite difficult - but I love learning new things, and I've been lucky that my school offered French and Latin (both of which I took to Higher and would have taken AH but didnt have the space ) and in my 4th year, I signed up for BSL and picked up Scottish Gaelic last year at uni.

There were 5 in our French Class and 12 in Latin; and our school was tiny. I really wished our school had offered Russian; my Papa was fluent in it and it is one of those languages I've always wanted to learn. I've picked up some Spanish and Italian for going abroad on holidays, but nothing major.
I have an aquaintance who is Finnish, and I think it will give him the shock of his life when I murderattempt some of the phrases
How do you say "I am a vegetarian"?

Um... I know I was drunk last night but I appear to have changed my sig to another Finnish phrase and I totally don't remember doing that! The last one (hopefully) translated as 'I'm sorry I don't speak Finnish, Where is the toilet?' I have no idea what this one says! Although I drink wine I actually don't get drunk that often (honest Guv!) but I so needed to do that last night! God! What does my sig say!

Oh I was watching a thing on tv about Greta Garbo the other night, it was so interesting that I googled her to see more information and I came up with a guy called Mauritz Stiller. He's Finnish I believe or he might be Swedish but I think he was born in Finland. Fascinating man. I'm still reading up about it/them/her/him!

He was born in Finland in the 1880's, but ran away from the Russian army draft and moved to Sweden when he was young. Made a lot of movies. Don't know much about him.
