Pinoy Big Brother welcomed hunky housemate Sam who replaced Jenny, abs-cbnNEWS.com learned Sunday.

The new housemate is 21-year-old Samuel Lloy Lacia Milby, a Filipino-American.

Jenny left Kuya's house on Friday so she could take care of her ailing father.

Under the house rules of Pinoy Big Brother, a new housemate may be called in to replace anyone who leaves voluntarily or who has been disqualified by Kuya.

Sam was born and raised in Ohio, USA. His father is an American and his mother is a Filipina from Surigao.

"I hope Big Brother speaks English coz if not I won't understand a word," Sam said before entering the House.

Figure skating, motocross and surfing are Sam's hobbies. He also plays the guitar.

His mom Elsie Milby has one piece of advice for him: "Be yourself."

ABS-CBN on Friday said it will comply with the decision of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to suspend its new reality show "Pinoy Big Brother" for one episode.

The MTRCB, through its chairwoman Ms. Consoliza Laguardia and its adjudication committee, ordered the one-day suspension of the hit franchised show on Wednesday as penalty for airing certain scenes that the censors board deemed beyond the parental guidance classification of the show.

"In our opinion, we in Pinoy Big Brother have operated within the parameters agreed upon with the Board in the first meeting held last Aug. 26, 2005," ABS-CBN said in a statement.

It added: "We understand that Pinoy Big Brother represents a new, unprecedented expression of Filipino reality, a microcosm of human behavior that opens valuable studies and insights into social interaction, relationships and discipline."

The network giant, which secured a three-year contract with "Big Brother" rights owner, however, said it "will continue to work in partnership with the MTRCB in producing well-screened episodes given the inherently free-form genre of reality TV."

ABS-CBN assured it remains committed in offering the best presentations of "Pinoy Big Brother" to the Filipino audience.

The show, now on its sixth week, features six young women and six young men locked inside a house with only two bedrooms, one bathroom, a garden and a swimming pool.

All their movements are caught on camera and their speeches on a lapel microphone they must wear 24 hours a day.

At the end of each week, elimination is done through voting among the contenders and texting for the viewers. The two who get the most number of votes will be the final nominees for eviction. Viewers are asked to choose which one stays in the house.

The winner of the 100-day challenge stands to win P1 million, a Nissan Frontier Titanium 3 and a house and lot in St. Monique Villas.

"Pinoy Big Brother" airs nightly (with daytime and midnight updates) from Monday to Saturday, with Willie Revillame, Toni Gonzaga and Mariel Rodriguez as hosts. Studio 23 airs the show from Monday to Thursday and Saturdays, hosted by Asia Agcaoili.

The show's official website http://www.pinoybigbrother.com. features latest articles, a diary, message board, downloads, gallery and profiles of the 12 housemates.

It offers complete episode archive and non-stop live streams direct from the "Pinoy Big Brother" house through ABS-CBN NOW!.

The "big brother" concept is based on George Orwell’s novel "1984", published in 1948 and taken to be a warning against totalitarianism, in which the state spies on the activity of every individual.

The Philippines is the 31st country to have its own edition of the hit "Big Brother" show, but is only the second country to buy a franchise of the show after Thailand.

The show was invented by John de Mol of the Netherlands and was developed by his production company, Endemol.

THE FILIPINO version of Big Brother has been taken off air for a week - because there is too much sex and nudity.

Head of sensorship Maria Consoliza Laguardia pulled the plug on the show and wrote to its producers to complain.

She said she considered the "kissing scene between housemates Chx and Sam, gyrating dances in skimpy bikini, double entendre dialogue and use of skimpy bikini, to be beyond the parental guidance classification and not suitable for television viewing".

Thye show's producers complied with the suspension but insisted they had stuck to guidelines.

They said in an statement: "We understand that ‘Pinoy [Filipino] Big Brother’ represents a new, unprecedented expression of Filipino reality, a microcosm of human behaviour that opens valuable studies and insights into social interaction, relationships and discipline".

JB Magsaysay repeatedly appealed to the people to give him another chance to stay at "Pinoy Big Brother’s" house but his efforts were in vain.

On Saturday, the public chose to save Racquel Reyes anew, thus evicting the boy-next-door from La Union from the 100-day, real life challenge.

Racquel got 66.3 percent of the total votes while JB garnered 33.7 percent.

JB became the second housemate to be evicted. He followed in the footsteps of Rico Barrera who was evicted two Saturdays ago.

With JB’s eviction, there are now 10 housemates left in Big Brother's house. They are Chx, Jason, Nene, Bob, Say, Cass, Uma, Jenny, Franzen, Sam and Racquel.

To stay for Say

Seated beside housemate Say, JB pleaded to the viewers to let him stay in the house "to give a smile to the person next to me."

JB admitted that he was not yet ready to leave the house because of Say. JB and Say both said recently that they have fallen for each other.

The two had been seen lovey-dovey with each other since the second week of the show but only became a couple formally early this week.

"I have prepared myself for my eviction, but I wanted to stay inside the house because of Say. But I promise I will wait for her," JB said when asked how he felt about his eviction.

For now, their love story will have to wait as Say continues her fight for survival inside the Big Brother house.

Say's loss, apparently, was a gain for JB's parents who have admitted missing their son for more than a month now.

"We, especially his dad, miss JB so much. Our home is really different with him around," JB's mother said.

Earlier, JB's parents even appealed to the public to support their son, whom they described to be "a very loving child and a friendly person."

JB's mother, who admitted being hurt by the nasty comments written against her son in the Big Brother forum, also defended him and said that JB was just being misunderstood.

"If you would only get to know him more, you will realize how good a person he is. He is very friendly, in fact, everyone here in the community is his friend," JB's mother said.

As for JB, he said he takes his eviction as a blessing, in the same way that he embraced his selection as one of 12 housemates of "Pinoy Big Brother."

"I believe that there is a reason for everything. Being in Big Brother's house led me to Say, and I am more than grateful for that. With my eviction, I just tell myself what I always tell my friends: When the Lord closes a door, He opens a window," JB said.

Kuya skips Sunday

Meanwhile, Pinoy Big Brother will not air on Sunday in compliance with the order of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to suspend the program for one episode.

The MTRCB, through chairwoman Maria Consoliza Laguardia and its adjudication committee, ordered the one-day suspension of the hit franchise show on Wednesday as penalty for airing certain scenes that the censors board deemed beyond the parental guidance classification of the show.

"In our opinion, we in Pinoy Big Brother have operated within the parameters agreed upon with the Board in the first meeting held last Aug. 26, 2005," ABS-CBN said in a statement.

"Pinoy Big Brother," now on its sixth week, features six young women and six young men locked inside a house with only two bedrooms, one bathroom, a garden and a swimming pool.

Every two weeks, elimination is done through voting among the contenders and texting for the viewers. The two who get the most number of votes will be the final nominees for eviction. Viewers are asked to choose which one stays in the house.

The winner of the 100-day challenge stands to win P1 million, a Nissan Frontier Titanium 3, a house and lot in St. Monique Villas, and a P1.5 million business venture with Ink for Less.

"Pinoy Big Brother" airs nightly with Willie Revillame, Toni Gonzaga and Mariel Rodriguez as hosts. Studio 23 airs the show from Mondays to Saturdays, hosted by Asia Agcaoili.

The show's official website http://www.pinoybigbrother.com. features latest articles, a diary, message board, downloads, gallery and profiles of the 12 housemates.

Contact with the outside world is not allowed!"

This was what Loren Dyogi, one of the executive producers of "Pinoy Big Brother" stressed when asked about the rumor that MTRB Chairperson Ms. Consoliza Laguardia visited the "Pinoy Big Brother" house and went inside to investigate.

"A big no!"

This was the reaction of evicted housemate JB Magsaysay as he denied rumors that he and girlfriend and housemate Say Alonzo had sex inside "Pinoy Big Brother's" house.

Magsaysay admitted that he and Alonzo had many opportunities "for a more intimate moment" inside the house, but did not take advantage of them out of sheer respect for her girlfriend and her family.

"I love Say and I respect her. I will not do anything that will embarrass her and her family," Magsaysay said.

On Saturday Magsaysay's repeated appeal to public to give him another chance to keep his life inside the house "if only for Say" proved in vain after the viewers chose to save Racquel Reyes.

Alonzo cried in disbelief when she heard "Pinoy Big Brother" host Willie Revillame said good-bye to Magsaysay who had only been his boyfriend for barely a week. The two had been seen lovey-dovey with each other since the second week of the show.

"I have prepared myself for my eviction, but I wanted to stay inside the house because of Say. But I promise I will wait for her," the young lad from La Union said when asked how he felt about his eviction.

Magsaysay said that he has not yet "completely moved on" since Saturday's eviction and has since had sleepless nights as he kept on thinking how Alonzo was.

In an earlier interview with "The Buzz," Magsaysay confessed that he was jealous and felt insecure of Sam Milby, "Pinoy Big Brother's" newest housemate who admitted having a crush on Alonzo.

"Sam, it's all right with me if you want to get close to Say, but remember she's mine," Magsaysay's said in his message to Milby.

Magsaysay, meanwhile, also made a public apology for the way he behaved inside the house which, according to his parents, made him the "hated guy" of Pinoy Big Brother.

"The very moment that we set in, Pinoy Big Brother told us to just be ourselves. I only played the game, but I sincerely did not mean to offend anybody," Magsaysay explained. "To my housemates, and to all of you viewers whom I have hurt in whatever way, I am very sorry."

The show's director Lauren Dyogi said Magsaysay's story made him understand that being inside the "Pinoy Big Brother" house--which does not allow the housemate to communicate with the outside world--could somehow be an ordeal that the public should also try to understand.

He said he had observed that Magsaysay acted quite differently from the way he has known him during the selection process.

Magsaysay got the ire of his housemates, and consequently the public, for being "arrogant" and for acting "as if he owns the house."

In Monday's episode of "Pinoy Big Brother," housemate Bob de la Cruz said that it has become easier to move inside the house since Magsaysay left.

The soft-spoken mother of Magsaysay, who has consistently defended his son, said "the JB that lived inside the house was not my son because in truth he is very warm, and friendly."

As for Magsaysay, while it feels bad to hear the nasty comments about his character, he said he did not regret being a "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate not only because it led her to Alonzo but also because he learned the lesson of his life.

"I've learned that, although it is important to be true to yourself, in this world, we cannot just say what we want to say and do what we want to do without considering the feelings of others," Magsaysay said.

While it may not change everybody's perception on Magsaysay, the message apparently captured the admiration of "The Buzz" hosts Kris Aquino and Boy Abunda, who said that "if there is anything good in the young man, he's not a sore loser."

FILIPINO BIG BROTHER SUSPENDED OVER SEXY SCENES

Filipino TV censors have suspended the country's hit reality show PINOY BIG BROTHER after producers aired footage featuring scantily-clad women and contestants kissing.

Bosses at the Philippines' Movie Television Review And Classification Board have blasted the producers for airing the footage, which they insist was "not suitable for television viewing".

Board chairman MARIA CONSOLIZA LAGUARDIA (corr) says the censors found, "a kissing scene between housemates..., gyrating dances in skimpy bikinis, double entendre dialogue," to be beyond the parental guidance classification."

As a result of the reprimand, last night's (25SEP05) showing of Big Brother didn't air. The programme is expected to continue next week filipinoBB

CENSORS CHIEF MARISSA LAGUARDIA SAID ABS-CBN’s controversial reality show, “Pinoy Big Brother,” offended the sensibility of “some viewers.”

In a phone interview, Laguardia told Inquirer Entertainment that, while younger audiences might relate to the “new concept” that the network introduced through the program, the more conservative sectors find it less acceptable.

Thus, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board instructed ABS-CBN on Monday to “create forums” and invite “moralists, liberals and network representatives” to further discuss the concept.

The directive came four days after Laguardia ordered that the airing of “Pinoy Big Brother” be suspended for one day. The series was pulled off the air on Sunday.

PG rating violated

According to Laguardia, PBB violated the parental guidance (PG) classification of the program when it aired the “kissing scene between housemates Chx and Sam, gyrating dances in skimpy bikini [and]
double entendre” in its Sept. 19 episode.

The show chronicles the interaction of 12 contestants living in one house for 100 days. One contestant is eliminated every week.

“The network should also be more sensitive,” said Laguardia. “It should first try to understand the way its audience thinks.”

In an interview on the show biz talk program “The Buzz” on Sunday, director Lauren Dyogi said “Pinoy Big Brother” would comply with the MTRCB order, even as he maintained that the series did not violate any rule.

“What you see on the show [happens] inside every Filipino home,” said Dyogi. “The clothes that the housemates wear on the set are their own.”

He added: “I do not understand why people find kissing scenes in a reality show objectionable, but not kissing scenes in a teleserye.”

But Laguardia said the network earlier promised not to air “objectionable” scenes. “It should keep its promise.”

She explained: “Although this is a reality show, things that are private should be kept private. Not all viewers could readily embrace such a concept. The network should compromise (with viewers). Instead of airing activities in the bedroom, why not air activities in the living room?”

Racquel was nominated for the third time while Cass got her first during third nomination night of "Pinoy Big Brother" (PBB) on Saturday.
Racquel, the teacher from Batangas, got seven nomination points while Cass, the shapely lass from Davao, got nine.

Racquel again appealed to the public to support her for the third time as she expressed heartfelt thanks to those who rooted for her during the first two nominations.

On the other hand, Cass addressed "kababayans" in Davao by speaking in her native tongue. She asked for support to stay longer in the house of "Kuya."

As a result of their nomination, the two will be expected to make amends in the coming week to earn the favor of texters and callers nationwide.

The fate of Racquel and Cass are now in the hands of viewers, who can text or call in their votes to support he nominee whom they would like to stay further in PBB.

Voting ends on Saturday, which will also be the third eviction night of the true-to-life telenovela.

The nominated housemate who gets the least number of votes will be automatically evicted.

The third housemate to be evicted next week will follow Rico and JB, who were the first ones booted out.

After he was evicted, Rico said he had conditioned himself to leave the house of Kuya. The Olongapo native, however, said that he will surely miss the 11 housemates who have become good friends.

Rico was ordered out after getting the least number of votes for the 12 housemates then. He got 10 percent of the total votes cast.

Last week, JB of La Union province, who repeatedly appealed to the people to give him another chance to stay with girlfriend Say, became the second housemate to be evicted. He garnered 33.7 percent of the total votes against Racquel's 66.3 percent.

Psychiatrist says viewers of ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ enjoy peeking into private lives

A PRACTICING psychiatrist hired by the producers of Pinoy Big Brother said people who watch the controversial reality series actually get to quench their thirst for voyeurism.

Dr. Randy Dellosa, the resident psychiatrist of the controversial ABS CBN 2 series, clarified that voyeurism doesn’t always translate to watching other people indulge in sex. “In the case of Pinoy Big Brother, viewers get to peek into the private lives of complete strangers. It’s right there on the TV screens. You get to see 12 people go through personal dramas and dilemmas. You get to watch them actually fall in love. Everything that’s supposed to be personal or private is aired every night for our consumption,” he said.

‘Ate’ is Out, ‘Dod’ Survives Eviction!

First she booted out Rico. During the 2nd eviction, Ate survived again and ousted JB. But in her third struggle to escape another eviction, Racquel Reyes finally succumbed to her formidable female foe Cass. Tonight, viewers ceased supporting Racquel and voted for the sexy cover girl from Davao, giving ‘dod’ one more chance to live another day in Pinoy Big Brother.

In a tightly contested match, Cass finally ousted Racquel by receiving the majority number of text votes. Cass got 57% while Racquel received the remaining 43% of the total votes.

Right after the announcement of her eviction, Racquel hugged and congratulated her opponent Cass. Uma and Say, who consistently voted for Racquel also approached and thanked her. Chx, was the only housemate aside from Racquel that cried during tonight’s eviction.

Unfortunately, the former teacher was not able to say goodbye to her closest friend Bob, who is currently in the hospital for a medical check-up. Racquel cried even more when she saw her mother and sister waiting outside the door. But she suddenly smiled after seeing hundreds of people cheering her name as she returns to the “normal world.” She thanked her fans and said that she will never forget her extraordinary experience inside the house. “Thank you. Most memorable yung pagsali ko dito. Unexpected ko lahat. Yun pagtira ko ng almost two months lahat po yun na-che-cherish yun…maligaya po ako, damang-dama ko ang pagmamahal Niyo,” Racquel disclosed.

An ailing Jun Bob de la Cruz, known to the Pinoy Big Brother fans as Bob, was evicted from the Big Brother's House Sunday afternoon.

Kuya decided to evict Bob from the house due to his unstable health condition.

Because Bob is out, an evicted housemate will have a chance to re-enter Big Brother's House if he or she garners the highest vote from viewers.

Under the Big Brother House rules, in case a housemate was evicted due to health reasons, "a new contestant may be called in as a replacement. A healthy evicted housemate is qualified.

Kuya announced that starting Sunday night, viewers may text in their votes whom among the four ex-housemates should return to Big Brother's House.

The candidates are Rico, Jenny, JB and Racquel.

Bob was rushed out of the Big Brother House to undergo medical check-up on Saturday at a nearest hospital.

The rules said any housemates taken out of the house under any circumstances should be back in 24 hours or he/she will be automatically booted out.

On Friday Bob woke up with an aching finger on his right hand. After minutes of complaining about the finger, he went unconscious, creating panic among his fellow housemates.

Bob underwent a complete blood test, neurological test, EEG and CT scan.

The first findings showed that Bob could have suffered from a mild stroke or seizure, and doctors recommended that he should be admitted to a hospital for further tests.

Bob left the Big Brother's House on Saturday at 4:08 p.m. and has not returned since.

Fans of "Pinoy Big Brother" (PBB) on Saturday chose to bring back Jenny Suico to the house, giving her a fresh chance at the P5 million prize package for the winner of the 100-day challenge.

Suico emerged victorious in PBB's "Big Switch" after garnering 42 percent of total votes cast. She bested previously evicted housemates Rico Barrera (25%), JB Magsaysay (21%) and Racquel Reyes (12%).

Suico earlier quit PBB to attend to her ailing father, who by then was suffering from liver cancer. He passed away six days after Suico left the PBB house.

Suico's return to PBB house was made possible by the forced eviction of Bob de la Cruz last Sunday because of unstable medical condition.

On Friday, de la Cruz woke up with an aching finger in his right hand. After minutes of complaining about the finger, he suddenly went unconscious, creating panic among his fellow housemates.

At 4:08 p.m. last Saturday, he was rushed out of the PBB house to undergo medical check-up at a nearby hospital. But because he had to go through a series of medical tests, de la Cruz failed to return to the house within the allowed 24 hours.

Under PBB rules any housemate taken out of the house under any circumstances should be back in 24 hours, otherwise, he or she will be automatically evicted.

With de la Cruz's eviction, Pinoy Big Brother ordered to call in a replacement from among the housemates who had previously been evicted. The replacement had to be decided by the public through text votes and calls.

De la Cruz was later declared out of danger. The feel outside the house also made the young politician from Bulacan to totally give up his dream of becoming the ultimate PBB housemate.

"I'm better off outside the house, I will just try my luck in show business," de la Cruz told reporters.

Five housemates were nominated Sunday night for eviction from Big Brother's House.

During the fourth nomination night aired over ABS-CBN 2, Jayson Gainza, Sam Lloyd Milby and Cassandra Ponti each garnered five votes making them candidates for eviction this Saturday.

Chiqui "Chx" Llamaso and Franzen Fajardo were added to the eviction list after they drew the ire of Big Brother for violating his house rules.

Their fate now lies in the hands of viewers who will text their votes that will determine the one that should remain at Big Brother's House.

Big Brother explained why Franzen is riped for the eviction. He said Franzen recently was seen to have violated some house rules, such as getting up too late, switching off the bedroom lights at the wrong time, locking the bedroom door and taking a bath during forbidden hours.

The comic Jayson also got five nomination points for his "out-of-line" jokes to Say. Say said Jayson's jokes insinuated that ex-housemate JB who is her boyfriend could be meeting other girls outside the Big Brother House.

FHM girl Cassandra got her fifth vote from one of the girls, Chx.

Sam,got four votes from buddies Jayson and Franzen.

Chx learned that she was nominated by Big Brother for being too inquisitive. One of Big Brother's house rules says that no housemate should ask any person about the "outside world."

A footage caught Chx asking Big Brother returnee Jenny Suico about the happenings at "the outside world," such as what is the latest trend in fashion, who is dating who, etc. Jenny declined to answer Chx.

On Saturday, Jenny reentered Big Brother's House after she got the most number of votes among ex-housemate contenders Rico, JB and Racquel.
Jenny voluntarily went out of the house early this month to tend to her ailing father in Olongapo City. After almost a week her father died.

Jenny got the chance to return to the house after Jun Bob de la Cruz was evicted by Big Brother last week. The rule says Bob must go due to his delicate health condition.

Bob was rushed to the hospital for a series of medical examinations after he fell ill inside Big Brother's house.
