I would definitely say yes. American Psycho is one of my very favourite books.

American Psycho is the first time I actually read the book before I saw the movie.

A great author when it comes down to expressing sickness of the mind. Does anyone know if something ever bad happened to him to write like that?

dunno, but reading that book was not a pleasant experience. Can't say I enjoyed reading it but I've read it 4 or 5 times now. Not the sort of thing you enjoy.

The book is a lot more disturbing than the movie. I squirmed a lot during the reading.

One thing the movie and the book have in common is that neither make sense at the end...though you get a better idea in the book

It's not exactly comfortable reading, but I think it is incredibly cleverly written.

I don't know if anything has ever happened in Bret Easton Ellis's life to make him think like that. Most of his books have very sinister undertones though.

I've got Glamorama but haven't got round to reading it yet.
