JB Magsaysay repeatedly appealed to the people to give him another chance to stay at "Pinoy Big Brother’s" house but his efforts were in vain.
On Saturday, the public chose to save Racquel Reyes anew, thus evicting the boy-next-door from La Union from the 100-day, real life challenge.
Racquel got 66.3 percent of the total votes while JB garnered 33.7 percent.
JB became the second housemate to be evicted. He followed in the footsteps of Rico Barrera who was evicted two Saturdays ago.
With JB’s eviction, there are now 10 housemates left in Big Brother's house. They are Chx, Jason, Nene, Bob, Say, Cass, Uma, Jenny, Franzen, Sam and Racquel.
To stay for Say
Seated beside housemate Say, JB pleaded to the viewers to let him stay in the house "to give a smile to the person next to me."
JB admitted that he was not yet ready to leave the house because of Say. JB and Say both said recently that they have fallen for each other.
The two had been seen lovey-dovey with each other since the second week of the show but only became a couple formally early this week.
"I have prepared myself for my eviction, but I wanted to stay inside the house because of Say. But I promise I will wait for her," JB said when asked how he felt about his eviction.
For now, their love story will have to wait as Say continues her fight for survival inside the Big Brother house.
Say's loss, apparently, was a gain for JB's parents who have admitted missing their son for more than a month now.
"We, especially his dad, miss JB so much. Our home is really different with him around," JB's mother said.
Earlier, JB's parents even appealed to the public to support their son, whom they described to be "a very loving child and a friendly person."
JB's mother, who admitted being hurt by the nasty comments written against her son in the Big Brother forum, also defended him and said that JB was just being misunderstood.
"If you would only get to know him more, you will realize how good a person he is. He is very friendly, in fact, everyone here in the community is his friend," JB's mother said.
As for JB, he said he takes his eviction as a blessing, in the same way that he embraced his selection as one of 12 housemates of "Pinoy Big Brother."
"I believe that there is a reason for everything. Being in Big Brother's house led me to Say, and I am more than grateful for that. With my eviction, I just tell myself what I always tell my friends: When the Lord closes a door, He opens a window," JB said.
Kuya skips Sunday
Meanwhile, Pinoy Big Brother will not air on Sunday in compliance with the order of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to suspend the program for one episode.
The MTRCB, through chairwoman Maria Consoliza Laguardia and its adjudication committee, ordered the one-day suspension of the hit franchise show on Wednesday as penalty for airing certain scenes that the censors board deemed beyond the parental guidance classification of the show.
"In our opinion, we in Pinoy Big Brother have operated within the parameters agreed upon with the Board in the first meeting held last Aug. 26, 2005," ABS-CBN said in a statement.
It added: "We understand that Pinoy Big Brother represents a new, unprecedented expression of Filipino reality, a microcosm of human behavior that opens valuable studies and insights into social interaction, relationships and discipline."
The network giant, which secured a three-year contract with "Big Brother" rights owner, however, said it "will continue to work in partnership with the MTRCB in producing well-screened episodes given the inherently free-form genre of reality TV."
ABS-CBN assured it remains committed in offering the best presentations of "Pinoy Big Brother" to the Filipino audience.
"Pinoy Big Brother," now on its sixth week, features six young women and six young men locked inside a house with only two bedrooms, one bathroom, a garden and a swimming pool.
All their movements are caught on camera and their speeches on a lapel microphone they must wear 24 hours a day.
Every two weeks, elimination is done through voting among the contenders and texting for the viewers. The two who get the most number of votes will be the final nominees for eviction. Viewers are asked to choose which one stays in the house.
The winner of the 100-day challenge stands to win P1 million, a Nissan Frontier Titanium 3, a house and lot in St. Monique Villas, and a P1.5 million business venture with Ink for Less.
"Pinoy Big Brother" airs nightly with Willie Revillame, Toni Gonzaga and Mariel Rodriguez as hosts. Studio 23 airs the show from Mondays to Saturdays, hosted by Asia Agcaoili.
