Patrick Kielty has ripped into Fame Academy judge Richard Park labelling him ‘stupid’.
The pair clashed on the BBC1 talent show and presenter Kielty was outraged that the judge used a crude hand gesture during one show.
“I certainly didn’t treat him with the deference he was used to. But this is someone who’s stupid enough to make that gesture on screen at 7 p.m. on BBC1,” he tells Heat magazine.
“How can you take someone that stupid seriously? Get over yourself.”
Park’s argumentative style upset viewers and Kielty adds: “It’s not that I don’t like him. It’s just that he’s not even a beep on my radar.
“For me he was too stupid to realise that he’s not being told to shut up because I think he’s talking sh**e; he’s being told to shut up because we’ve got to go to the news.”
Kielty, 34, who presented ITV’s Celebrity Love Island, says that he adores working with Fame Academy co-presenter Cat Deeley but his relationship with Park remains frosty.
“I am happy to speak to him but he doesn’t like speaking to me. I get a bit of a kick out of the fact that he seems to want to ignore me.”
The comic, who is single, reveals that his TV profile helps him dating by adding: “I get quite a lot of girls and it’s because I’m on the telly. Let’s be honest – I’m no Tom Cruise.
"Later on, of course, women realise the blackness and moroseness that comes from being with comedians.”
