Popstar hopeful Phillip Magee has become the third act to be kicked out of ITV's X Factor.
The 21-year-old from Larne in Northern Ireland was booted off the programme by judge Simon Cowell.
Phillip, who sang Chuck Berry's Johnny B Goode during last night's show, was up against fellow contestant Chico Slimani, 34, to remain in the series.
But Simon described both acts as the most bizarre performances he had ever seen.
He said he felt the right two contestants were "at the bottom of the pile", before sending the 21-year-old home because he concluded that the audience would prefer Chico to stay.
Nine of the 12 acts now remain in the talent show.
Judge Sharon Osbourne leads the way with all four contestants still remaining.
Simon has lost two acts from his Groups category, while fellow judge Louis Walsh has seen one booted off.
Speaking about being kicked out, Phillip said: "It is disappointing but I am not going to beat myself up about it.
"I still want to pursue a singing career and really hope something comes out of being on the X Factor. I would love a recording contract."
