The parents of former Big Brother contestant Lesley Sanderson say the reality show destroyed their daughter and they now fear for her life.
Lesley's parents said she had left her family, been drinking heavily, spent all her money and moved into a squalid flat in an alleged red light district.

The 20-year-old, who took part in this year's competition, waived her right to anonymity last week to talk about an alleged rape in a Leeds hotel by a man, following a date.

Her mother Heather, 39, told a tabloid newspaper that Lesley had struggled to cope with fame and ended up with a chronic drink problem following her two weeks on Big Brother.

She said: "I just fear we will get a knock at the door one day telling us she's been found in a ditch.

"She's gone from a nice house and the support of a loving family to living in squalor in a red light district where prostitutes walk the streets."

Told to leave home

Heather told The Star that Lesley moved out of the family home at Skelmanthorpe, near Huddersfield, West Yorks after the family ordered her to end her non-stop partying or leave.

Their daughter made the rape allegation to police later on the day she left home.

Heather said: "She's wasted all her money on drink, partying and hangers-on. When I heard what had happened to her I was physically sick. All this has happened since she went on Big Brother. Our lives will never be the same again."

Last week, Lesley said the reality show had ruined her life, with the alleged rape the last in a series of "nasty events" she had endured since she appeared in the programme over the summer.

She said that producers had deliberately portrayed her as a wicked witch, saying that before the rape she had been glassed and kicked in clubs, verbally abused and constantly hassled by men.

The alleged rape reportedly happened last month when she was attacked by a man in his 20s at The Golden Lion Hotel, in Leeds city centre.

The reality television star said she met the alleged rapist at a hotel in Luton where she was staying with a female friend before heading to London for a magazine shoot the next day.

The pair swapped affectionate text messages over the next few days and met up again when Lesley went to stay at the Golden Lion Hotel after leaving home. The attack reportedly happened later that night.

Lesley, who entered the Big Brother house wearing a PVC nurse's outfit, was the second contestant to be voted off the sixth series after just 15 days in the house.

In The Daily Star, Lesley's parents attack Derek for encouraging Lesley to scrap her anonymity.

An horrendous crime has been alleged - surely the ridiculous Derek should not be encouraging a woman in this situation to play the media game??

That allegedly had a row with her causing her to check into the hotel where she was allegedly raped?

Gah. Bring me my pound of flesh. If I were her mother, I would be feeling horribly guilty about not doing everything I could to support my daughter when shes having a hard time, not selling my story to the first available paper.

Tragic.

What support is available to contestants who find it hard to cope once leaving the house? Is there any obligation for Endemol to give support post-show, ie after all contractual obligations have finished - or is Lesley on her own?

Big Brother loser Lesley Sanderson is now squatting in seedy red-light districts, according to her distressed parents.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Lesley's dad Paul, 36, and mum Heather 39, have slammed the reality show for wrecking their daughter's life which reached an all-time low last week after it was alleged she had been raped.

And now it appears the 19-year-old's life is still at rock bottom and Lesley's parents are fearful that she is going the same way as her best friend at school who died in mysterious circumstances.

"I just fear we will get a knock at the door one day telling is she's been found in a ditch," said mum Heather.

"She has gone from a nice house and the support of a loving family to living in squalor in a red light district where prostitutes walk the streets."

Dad Paul, who is a builder, added: "I don’t know how the people at Big Brother can sit back and watch a good family torn apart.

"I will hold them personally accountable for anything else that happens to Lesley."

Big Brother 6 star Lesley Sanderson is said to have entered a concerning downward spiral since her tryst with fame.

The Huddersfield-based girl of gargantuan gazonngas claimed last week that she had been raped in a Leeds hotel room – and her mother has added that this is but the tip of an iceberg of debauchery, degradation and, in her words, "squalor".

Her mum, Heather, told the Daily Star: "We are scared to death for her. I just fear we will get a knock at the door one day telling us she's been found in a ditch.

"She's gone from a nice house and the support of a loving family to living in squalor in a red light district."

Lesley's folks said they had to tell her to move out of their home after she refused to tone down her partying lifestyle.

Last week Lesley, who was voted off Big Brother after just two weeks, claimed taking part in the show had ruined her life.

She said she was unfairly portrayed as bad and quite terrifying person by Big Brother's producers, which has led to her being verbally and physically abused in the street.

The man who allegedly raped Lesley has denied the charges, claiming she consented to the sex. He was released on bail after appearing in court.
