It was reaching a point where people had almost forgotten about Alex Parks.

In the fickle world of pop music two years is a long time to go without releasing anything, and music fans could be forgiven for presuming she’d been dropped from her record label like so many other reality TV ‘stars’.

But then 21-year-old Alex, who won the second series of Fame Academy in 2003, isn’t like those other stardom-seeking singers. She’s a serious, almost painfully shy performer who saw Fame Academy as an opportunity to get a record deal, rather than fame and fortune.

I haven't seen her new look. Where is it? Liked her voice but she always seemed a miserable cow to me.

Not that much different really, but she looks a bit more grown-up, she'll be on "loose Women" in 2 minutes :D

Just seen her. She does look older. I think I would have a better chance than you tho. I don't think she 'does' men ;)

I know, but lets face it I'm never gonna shag a sleb, straight or gay, so I just like looking at her cornflower-blue eyes :D

I thought she was awful on Loose Women. It just sounded dire... maybe that's just because I never saw what the fuss about her voice was though?

Never saw her on Loose Women but I totally agree with that. I thought she was dire on Fame Academy. Then again, FA2 was rubbish in so many ways for me because FA1 had been so good...

Oh Jezi.. thats a very sweeping statement saying FA2 was rubish, I know a lot of people enjoued it more than FA1, thou I didnt have access to the red button for Fa1 so cant say much about FA1.

Alex Parks wasnt a good reality TV contestant. inventing a child like secret code with caroline cut us viewers out of the loop. She was also not a song writer or a musician as was proved live on TV. As a person shes OK ish. but I`m sorry I cant see much future for her unless she lucks in with a great song.

You're the first person I've heard of that preferred FA2 Blags!! ::lol::

I thought it was pretty conclusive that FA1 was tonnnns better, cos of the outings to Shepperton, the layout of the house, and the students in general! Ho hum!

I had the misfortune to hear Miss Parks singing on the National Lottery earlier. Thankfully, they cut back to Eamonn Holmes after a verse and a bit!

I never said it was rubbish full stop, just that I personally didn't enjoy it in the slightest.

Going by the album she sounds totally different to how she did on the first one.
If she still sounds raw live then the studio must have done a lot of work on the album or based on the articles that still say how shy she is there is the possibility that she's not comfortable performing live ?
Who knows ,first album sounded dreadful ,second one sounds a hell of a lot better. I haven't heard her do a live performance recently.
