I was just wondering out of interest and as it is the topic of the day do we agree or disagree with a possible war.

There is a great worry that Bush is using this as an excuse to sieze control of the oil, making the US even more powerful

Disagree

Saddam is mad, and a dictator - but who gave the USA/Bush the authority to decide how others countries are ruled. Who will they go after when hussain is bumped off.

Blairs an idiot for letting bush pull his strings.

agreed Lesley

How can the US have the right to have wepons of mass destruction and turn around and say that no one else is allowed, this is all about keeping the US at the top.

I agree that Saddam is a big threat and an evil dictator, but the worst thing to do is put him in a corner IMO

I agree Jonnyboy what scares me is that their doesn't seem enough voices who are against the strikes, if the situation progresses god forbid we could be looking at another Vietnam situation. The Americans are quite happy to send planes over but in the real sense it is going to be the ordinary soldier to go in and the people in Iraq aren't going to just sit back and let them invade the country. We all know Saddam is evil but so is Osama Bin Laden and they haven't got him yet.

If the UK and US take action the UN will no longer have any power, meaning that the US will rule the world....

We should stick with whatever the UN decides on and should not break it's rules like Iraq.

Can't really add to what everyone has said. It's all about politics and I don't agree with sending soldiers in to die for that cause!

The national demonstration against a war on Iraq, will take place in
London on Saturday 28th Sept. There is also information at http://www.stopwar.org.uk

Talk about a smoke screen for the Bin Laden mess.

Is Bush really going to spend his term talking about global issues, doesn't the US have it's own problems? (ditto for Blair)

Agreed Bob, it does show that they think they are higher than the UN. I was talking to my parents about the situation and they told me about the time when the country was on the verge of joining the Americans in the Vietnam war and their was protests everywhere. It makes you wonder about some of the people today.

The thing that really pisses me off is that the UK is being used like a puppet, general opinion states that we dont want to go to war, and yet Mr Blair is so blinded by Bush, that the people who he is supposed to be in service to mean nothing to him.

Yes - and when you voters aren't very happy with how things are going isn't it easier to have a conflict somewhere - especially one you can win so that they all love you again afterwards

I don't know if George Bush Senior was trying to assignate Saddam but I do though know they did try to kill him.

I was listening to a radio station the other week in Manchester and they had this song playing that George Bush Junior is going after Saddam because he tried to kill is Papa. LOL it was so funny.
