I wasn't sure if this should go into the News catagory, or here in the General section. So I posted it here what I want to say.

In the last week the Daily Express has tried it's damn best to stir up us much hatred it could on it's front page. We have seen "they want to ban Christmas", "now they want to ban Christ" (both of which seem to want to stir up anti Muslim support) and now the have something on the lines of "Let's ban poppies". Why do some newspapers seem to want to stir up so much anger when the story, as featured below the headline, tells us it's only a suggestion and not a law?

Surely we have enough anger and hatred in this country without the papers trying their best to make it worse.

The mainstream media run on a diet of inspiring fear and worry in its readership. Whether people would buy the Times, Guardian, Mail...or even the Sun, were it to contain more 'reasoned' stories, remains to be seen. No mainstream media has ever really presented news in a professional and balanced manner.

If you want real news, then tune/read some of the online blogs/audio (soon to be TV shows) by independent 'from their bedroom' shows. Real stories/opinion about the world...not the usual dull nonsense that the mainstream are obsessed with.

Calrissian: buys no more than 1 newspaper a year.

Well said Calrissian. Newspapers are usually run by a bunch of bigots wanting to get their pathetic point across.

Blogs, and quite a lot of the online papers, seem to say a lot of what's going on without being biased and spouting off a load of printed drivel....but then saying that, has anyone read Digital Spy of late? lol

Hehe! I'll stick with the one I've got, I'll just ask him to change papers, I'd be buggered without him but cheers anyway :D
