Just looked on the met office thingy and under Aberdeen there is a heavy snow symbol thing for Thursday night and absolutely no weather at all (not even a cloud!) for during the day. Scary stuff.

Better plant next year a forest instead of one or two trees, so they'll cover each other better against storms! It's better to have a one tree down in the garden than in your House I guess! ;) Have you a fire-place? Maybe you can get some firewood from the tree, if it was big enough for that kind of purpose? ;)

Lovely :D lovely :) snow {@} over here today! About 15 cm = almost 6 inches! It's wet enough to build snowmen with it etc. And there's enough of it in the open places that we can ski a bit. But in the middle of the forests there's not that much yet!

Nine people have been taken to hospital after a train derailed following a landslip near Inverness.

They suffered minor injuries when the Edinburgh-bound train hit debris at Moy and the front carriage left the tracks at about 0720 GMT.

Passengers described scenes of panic as the lights went out and they were thrown into the air. The injured were airlifted to hospital by the RAF.

Network Rail said a thaw following a big freeze had caused the landslip.

There were 94 people on board the 0648 GMT First ScotRail service from Inverness which came to a stop near a river.

Today it didn't rain, or snow, it wasn't sunny either. There was no fog, no wind, and it wasn't really cold.

Does this count as a "nothing" sort of day?

too early to forecast the Christmas weather with any accuracy but tomorrow night looks very very cold, could easily be the hardest frost of this year so far.

As it stands christmas is looking green with no snow anywhere except the Scottish mountains, but a forecast can't be trusted until about mid next week.

I won't be rushing off to the bookies though, thats for sure :D

We'll most likely have loads of snow, it's been snowing all day again, and we're actually developing problems as to what comes to driving. Thank god we're sort of used to snow at winter time around here, so they're clearing the roads pretty afficiently.

Wow - Jezi! I have used to watch the weather daily with my own eyes and other senses, especially when weather forecasts don't promise anything else than 'variable' weather! ::lol:: I hope that you're allright with that snow and keep yourselves warm both inside and outside! Fathers of my street has been building today a great down-hill to children of the street with the snow that rained the other day that Liisi mentioned. Now it's only minus 8 degrees of Celsius cold, but wind makes it much more colder! :-?

When I say 'watched the weather' I meant the bit at the end of the news which tells you what the forecast is going to be.

We had a reasonable amount of snow this afternoon, it was really heavy for ages.
