Well, we need a result this time, so throwing caution to the wind from our batsmen and bowlers will make it bloody exciting watching (or listening in my case :D )

Looks like sports personality of the year is going to be all about cricket this year, best team- English cricket team, personality Freddie, best womens team, womens cricket team and overseas personality Shane Warne (or possibly Lance Armstrong)

Not impressed at all. Going from 101-0 to 115-3 is awful and it was down to stupidity again and we've given our wickets away to easily.

Bowlers will have to work hard when we're all out!

No-one's posted on todays play yet so thought I would.

Great innings from Paul Collingwood who I've been critical of at this level and was unlucky not to reach his first century. Thought that given yesterday, 288 was a decent enough knock on the whole and our bowlers have performed well today to peg them back. Inzaman is injured and his retiring from the innings was a huge boost as he looked set for another big innings. Great wicket for Liam Plunkett to get for his first ever test wicket but we do now need get Yousef out early doors tomorrow as he's nicely settled on 80 odd. Akhtar won't last long and then we're into the tail. I think we can get them all out for less than 288 which will give us a boost and hopefully, we won't have another poor batting performance!

Also, how ace is it to see the Barmy Army out there for the last test. Singing and dancing their hearts out. Would love to do that one year in Australia or the West Indies or something.

I should really turn this off. Two further wickets (tho one was never a wicket in a million years) within the next couple of overs.

Ah well, at least I wont have to choose between the test match and soccer am now

It is only 82 days since England reclaimed the Ashes and the country revelled in cricket's renaissance.

But as their first Test series defeat in two years was confirmed in Lahore, the wild celebrations and victory parades must have seemed a lifetime ago to Michael Vaughan and his men.

A 2-0 series defeat in Pakistan, England's first since succumbing to Sri Lanka in December 2003, is hardly cause for a public outcry.

Magnificent performance by the boys this morning. Well done Liam Plunkett. Excellent 1 day debut.

Brilliant lads, who needs Vaughnie, and I mean that, his one-day record is rubbish :D

Blackwell, Plunkett, Anderson all bowled well. Blackwell and Anderson should of played in the tests.

DEBUTANT Liam Plunkett took three wickets to guide England to a 42-run win over Pakistan in the first one-day international tonight.

It was the first major victory of the tour for England, which bowled out Pakistan for 285 in 46.5 overs after posting a commanding 4-327 on a flat track.

Plunkett and Andrew Flintoff took three wickets each as Pakistan lost the last five in 18 balls for just 23 runs after a strong start of 2-160 in 22 overs.

England's total was built around Andrew Strauss (94), Flintoff (72 not out) and Kevin Pietersen (56).
