Cadets Meet the Press
The cadets have their very first taste of fame when they attend an international press conference. Unfortunately, the "journalists" are actually actors and members of the production team.
Billy, Charlie, Keri and Paul met the "international press" for their very first press conference to discuss their feelings prior to blast off.
Unbeknownst to our Cadets, the conference was actually made up of actors and members of the production team posing as journalists.
The cadets described their shock and happiness at being selected to become Britain's first space tourists, except Charlie who felt it was "a clerical error".
Asked if any of them were planning on having sex in space, Billy admitted he couldn't say no, but when Keri said no, he quickly changed his mind and said, "No, then." Charlie and Paul were the other options.
Alex Zane asked the cadets how they would greet an alien should they meet one. Paul said he would greet them with a kiss, which is nice. Normally astronauts like to blast them into alien hell with laser guns and stuff, just in case.
The cadets spoke with great respect for the training they have received at STAR, and the hospitality of the Russian people. They've even grown to appreciate cabbage.
Asked by a tabloid reporter if they had slept with a hooker, or anyone from EastEnders, Charlie exclaimed, "He wasn't a hooker!" Keri said she hadn't slept with either, but quite liked Ross Kemp.
They all had a Merry Christmas message for the people back in the UK, and James Campbell pointed out they would all be back in the UK by Christmas, so could pass that message on in person.
Billy told reporters he had discounted a career as an astronaut after the show, saying it was, "even beyond us."
Charlie however, said he wouldn't be surprised to get a call from NASA.
