Bulgaria's audience decided that a whiny man whose wife abandoned him on national TV was most worthy of the EUR 100,000 (BGN 200,000) prize from the second season of Big Brother in Bulgaria.
Miroslav Atanassov, the contestant who probably shed more tears than everybody combined, left the house in glory after his 92-day-long ordeal.
Atanassov faced three other men in the final battle - Roma businessman Stefan Kemalov, mostly known as Bat Sali, Italian national Leonardo Bianki, and advertising art director Zvezdelin Minchev.
The four were left in the house after a series of plot turns and twists arranged by the producers. The number of the people in the house was increased twice and four new faces - three women and Bianki joined the contestants at latter stages.
Apart from Bianki none of the new additions stayed for too-long however, and even though the number of women in the show was increased a couple of times, only representatives of the "stronger" sex were left for the final battle for the love of the audience.
This season of Big Brother will be remembered by the orchestrated "love triangle" between Atanassov, his wife Elena and another contestant - Marian Zahariev. As a result the first weeks of the show mainly revolved around the feelings between the three and the teary confessions of Atanassov or his significant other.
Surprisingly the crybaby Atanassov, who quietly endured watching his wife fall in love with someone else, and then wept when seeing off that very same man, was saved by the audience in a series of nominations. In the end he won them over, receiving a noteworthy cash prize for his sufferings.
