I have drafted an advert to go in the newspaper, what do you think, would you reply?

VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED

___________ is urgently seeking volunteers to help supervise student activities. Is this something you are able to do in your spare time? Can you see yourself supervising sports teams during home and away fixtures, including football, rugby and netball? For the quieter life, could you supervise the Film Club or dance lessons?

Do you have a driving license? Are you able to transport students to and from fixtures?

If you fit either of these categories and are over the age of 18, please contact _______ on _______ or alternatively send an e-mail to _________

I think it's very good Niki. Says all it needs to say, you'll get loads of replies.

You may have thought of this, but you should mention something about police or socail service checks being made. Otherwise you may attract pervs.

even if its voluntary though? The College cant afford to pay for people and lecturers would do it, but in thier spare time they have to do paperwork. The govenment has really made a hash of everything.

see thats the worry, if I put it in the advert it will put people off, but if it is explained to them that they will be police checked when they ring up, then they should understand, working with under 18's, everyone has to be, I have been police checked many a time!

If you put it on their it will put people off, they will think the check is a lot more than it is, I have tought over 18's so I know that its not a gastapo type thing...lol

Best put normal checks will be carried out, if youare going to put anything. Then explain it over the phone.

2) I hate doing things for free
3) I hate doing things for others!!
4) Yeah like ive got time!!!
5) If I had time I wouldnt be able to be bothered

I'd leave it niki, i think its been so well publicised that its commmon sense they will be checked and they can be told on application! Put it on the application form or something?
