My pal went to see it and said he was very moved. I missed seeing it last week. Have you seen the film now? (If so, how does it compare with the book?)

I haven't seen the film yet but heard a lot of good things.
The book isn't actually a book but a short story that you can read in about half an hour but even so it's very powerful. Usually with films they cut bits out of books but with this they had to add some so I'll be intetrested if they have keep it true to the spirit of the story.
It's a very powerful story that stays with you for some time after but due to the nature of the subject it's actually quite hard to find someone to want to go and see it :-?

Suggestions of good books to buy at the moment from anyone? I have a voucher from christmas for Waterstones.

If you say what type of genre you like it might be easier to give you some suggestions ()^

When I put my mind to it I can actually say quite a lot of stuff in French but last night when I was tired and hyper (not a good combination ::lol:: ) it really doesn't work. Mind you it's verbs (when I use the correct one  ) and French speaking that I find easiest - you shall have to ask Muppet the cheeky comment he made regarding that.

I think I will go for the Dan Brown Books, they seem very entertaining from the people on here and other people I know. I want more fiction so should be the books to go for.

Do people think that books are always better than the films made from them or vice versa?

Nearly always the book is better imo. You tend to make a lot of judgements for yourself with a book but with a film it's someone else interpretation and it might not match your own preceptions.

Saying that it might depend on whether you read the book or see the film first (I'm a book first kinda gal ;) )

If you are still looking for a good book Chad I would recommend this one Swan Song

That's far to scary for me, I'll only have nightmares. You make very good points about books.
