STRICTLY SINGING

EIGHTIES pop stars Rick Astley and Martin Fry will join the line-up of BBC1's new celebrity talent show.

Just the Two of Us will pair up professional singers with famous faces such as GMTV newsreader Penny Smith and her BBC rival Fiona Bruce.

The full line-up of stars for the show dubbed Strictly Come Singing was leaked to the Mirror yesterday.

Rick Astley, whose biggest hit was Never Gonna Give You Up, does not yet know who he will duet with.

ABC singer Martin Fry will appear with Gaby Roslin, who recently starred in Chicago. Fiona Bruce is paired with soul star Alexander O'Neal, while Nicky Campbell will sing with Beverley Knight. The others have yet to be told who their partner will be.

Others singers in the lineup are: disco diva Jocelyn Brown, jazz singer Curtis Stigers, ex-S Club's Jo O'Meara, ex-Atomic Kitten Natasha Hamilton, Hollyoaks hunk Chris Fountain, ex-Cutting It actress Sian Reeves, actor Mark Moraghan and presenter Matt Allwright.

An insider said: "Everyone's getting nervous as they wait to find out who they are singing with." Show hosts are Tess Daly and Vernon Kaye. It starts on February 23.

I'M SICK AT RICK'S WALKOUT

EIGHTIES pop star Rick Astley has quit BBC1 duets show Just the Two of Us 10 days before it is first screened.

But he did not bother to tell his partner, Cutting It actress Sian Reeves.

Furious Sian said last night: "I feel like I've been hit by a truck."

Sian said she and Rick - famed for song Never Gonna Give You Up - got on well. "We spent a week getting to know each other and learning the songs, so this is like being punched in the face," she said.

Bosses of the show, in which stars sing with a professional partner, with the winner decided by public vote, are trying to find a replacement.

They must learn 10 songs before the show starts on February 23.

The BBC described Rick's decision as "a bolt from the blue".

Last night it emerged the show's final is the same night as the Oscars, at which Rick's wife has a short film up for an award.

A source said: "Rick wouldn't have been able to go - but now he can." Mirror

As for the show it sounds good,, Jo from S club will be used to working with people that cant sing ::lol:: ::lol::

SHUT IT ULRIKA
ANGRY TESS HITS OUT AT RIVAL'S 'RUBBISH' INSULT

SEXY Tess Daly proves to rival Ulrika Jonsson she really IS good at presenting - by showing off a host of her most interesting features.

Tess, 34, who tonight fronts new BBC1 duets show Just The Two Of Us, was furious when Ulrika accused her of being "rubbish" on screen.

Tess said: "I was shocked. It seems quite spiteful and unnecessarily so. I definitely wouldn't say I was rubbish at what I do. It takes a certain level of presenter to be able to handle a live TV show and I can do that."

Ex-Gladiators host Ulrika, 38, said Tess was "a good example of the young crowd of pretty useless presenters who are rubbish".
you have to ::lol:: ::lol:: at Ulrika, she is talking about herself 15 years ago

But Tess hit back, telling the latest edition of Arena magazine: "I'd hardly call her a Jeremy Paxman. I haven't seen her on television for a long time."

She added: "Come and tell me to my face, Ulrika - and we'll have a little chat about it." Tess is presenting the new show with husband Vernon Kay.

It features stars such as newsreader Fiona Bruce, DJ Nicky Campbell and TV presenter Gaby Roslin performing duets with professional singers in front a panel of judges.

When Arena asked what made her mad, Tessa instantly snapped: "Rude people. Selfish people. Lack of compassion. Inconsiderateness. Rudeness."

Who could she possibly mean? Mirror

Wow that was good,, some real brailliant singers and paired with some real croaks ::lol:: ::lol:: ::lol::

My best guess is Scabby Rosliin out first, as her profesional partner couldnt sing when he was a pop star and is worse now ::lol::

Jo O mera ... weak song, hard song but i still have my money on her to win with that chap from Holly Oaks ..

As for the judges Lou Lou .. please ,, the sour old biddy judged down one act because it was linked to Robbie from take that,, i think that was more about her shame at her bed session with one of the boys and their obvious bragging about it since. Anyway she judge the song not the act, pathetic.

I see loads of people are watching this then ::lol::

Agh anyway, i will type it hear and chuck it on the beeb forum when it opens tommorow ...

The right couple went. I felt sorry for Gabby her professional wasnt a strong singer, he was good in his time at what he did, but placed against the likes of Curtis Stiger most singers would look weak.
