YOUNGSTERS from Honiton and Axminster are competing to take part in their own Big Brother-style competition.
Organisers of the event are looking for 10 young people from each town to take part in the experiment, with each one having to raise £50 to take part.
The successful youngsters - five boys and five girls from each place - will be locked up for a weekend in Honiton Young People's Centre and will have to undertake a range of challenges during their incarceration.
Money raised will help pay for equipment at the Young People's Centres in Honiton and Axminster.
The group will go into the centre, in School Lane, at noon on Friday, February 24, and will come out 48 hours later.
Dan Barton, area youth worker, said: "We have a few people raising money, but the people who get selected will not be finalised until a few days before.
"It was their idea and the ones who came up with it will almost certainly be in the house."
The group will have basic washing facilities and will have to sleep in sleeping bags on the floor, but there are no bathrooms.
One of the features of the event will be to solve a large wooden cube-shaped puzzle that featured on the second series of Big Brother on Channel Four.
While they are separated from the outside world, success will be rewarded and failure will be penalised.
Mr Barton said: "It won't be a walk in the park
"We have lots of things planned but can't say too much ahead of the event as we want to surprise them.
