Russell Watson is lovely @^@

I haven't watched a great deal of the programme so wasn't all that bothered who won, Sian was a bit iffy in places but then that's sometimes a good thing IMO - helps you to improve.

Have to say though 'One Voice' - did anybody else think it was horrendous? Our group did that once and I'll hold my hands up and say it was awful (I gave it the name 'Twenty-eight Voices' ) but that gave us a run for our money. It just didn't gel at all.

Sian and Russell hit the right note

Actress Sian Reeves and singer Russell Watson triumphed in the celebrity singing show - Just the Two of Us.

Performing a range of hit songs the duo were voted winners by the public and also earned praise from the judges for the first time in the series.

Pop star Lulu paid tribute to Reeves saying: "you are an absolute revelation tonight,"

Radio 1 DJ Trevor Nelson agreed: "You have brought total drama to tonight's performance and have just gotten better and better."

They each win £10,000 for charity, Watson's funds will be donated to The Kirsty Appeal which raises money for the Francis House Children's Hospice in Didsbury, Manchester, while Reeves' money will head to Promise Dreams, a charity based in Wolverhampton which helps terminally ill children and their families.

The pair defeated their rivals Mark Moraghan and Natasha Hamilton in the final after a rousing rendition of Great Balls Of Fire, Annie's Song and the rock classic I Would Do Anything For Love.

Reeves and Watson started their preparations for the BBC show just 10 days before the programme went live on air, because Sian's first partner 80s heart-throb Rick Astley dropped out.

Throughout the show viewers have voted in their millions whittling down the eight singing celebrity couples to just one.

Each call raised funds for Sport Relief and the final total is expected to be more than £130,000. DAILYSNACK

I can only put their win down to the sympathy vote from the viewers :-?

The woman hasn't got a note in her head. They won because of the great performance she put in when she cried and got the sympathy vote. The judges didn't help matters on the final night when they were saying how well she had done. There win made the whole show a farce, imo.

I LOVE reality TV. Especially when celebrities are involved.
JUST TWO AWFUL FOR WORDS

I thought I'd be happy to watch them sing/ dance/ ice-skate/ cook until the end of time.

But that was B.J.T.T.O.U. - Before Just The Two Of Us.

This show has murdered the genre. Lazy, pointless and excruciating, the only highlights were the numerous technical faults that beset it from the off.

Presenters Tess Daly and Vernon Kay displayed a shocking lack of on-screen chemistry - terrifying when you remember they are married.

And the fact that they were forced to make awkward, hammy jokes about how they have sex in real life only added to the torture.

The judges - Lulu (cockatiel hair courtesy of Something About Mary stylists), Trevor Nelson (why, Trev, why?), Police drummer Stewart Copeland and some bird called CeCe - made you realise just why Simon Cowell is paid so much. Every night was terrible but the final topped them all.

Overly long, full of repetition, the words "journey" and "rollercoaster" were each used roughly 428 times.

Tess opened the show by admitting: "It's fair to say it has been a bit of a bumpy ride to reach tonight's final." Before announcing that tonight, the couples would be "pushed to the limit" - just like the viewers had been from day one.

The finalists had to perform three songs each - two of them were from previous shows.

Bearing in mind that people watching the final would have probably followed the show from the start, this was astoundingly lazy.

"This has been one of the most exciting journeys of my life," Atomic Kitten's Natasha Hamilton lied, before performing Kids again with Holby City's Mark Moraghan. "Tonight, we're looking for excellence," Judge Lulu announced. Yeah, good luck with that.

The judges made their judgements, Tess repeated them, then Vernon repeated them for a third time, just in case anyone had suddenly got amnesia.

Obviously, the judges were struggling to comment on songs they'd heard and commented on before.

"When you do stuff like this, your spirit catches fire, Sian," Lulu told some desperately ambitious girl from Cutting It, after she'd croaked her way through Great Balls Of Fire with charisma-free zone Russell Watson.

"It has been an emotional roller coaster," Tess confirmed, originally. Those contestants who'd been voted off sat in the bar area looking bored but pretending to be pleased.

"Everyone is having a great time backstage!" trilled Vernon, trying far too hard to convince us. But Nicky Campbell gave the game away, yawning until he saw a camera was on him, then clapping wildly.

Mark and Natasha performed I've Had The Time Of My Life, which may have been amazing but I doubt anyone was listening.

Natasha's underwear was fully visible - a la Judy Finnegan - because the top of her dress had slid to one side.

"It has been an electric rollercoaster," Mark said afterwards.

After a 47th recap of the judges' comments, Vernon told us: "But it's totally down to you guys voting at home."

Which, strictly speaking, was utter rubbish as the judges' scores were added to the phone votes.

After they'd sang three songs each, the finalists got together for a number which Tess said "won't be scored by the judges - it's just for you at home". Gee, thanks, you shouldn't have. Really.

Then all the past contestants - ie people you voted off because you didn't want to hear them sing any more - murdered Barry Manilow's One Voice... which gave Tess "goosebumps".

And then the big moment. After a l-o-n-g reminder of all the judges' comments, which by now viewers had heard 890 times, the "Champions of Just The Two Of Us" were revealed.

Sian Reeves and Russell Watson were presented with the trophy - a bit of glass with the name of the show written on it in glitter - before taking to the stage to perform a song we'd now sat through five times in one series and twice in one night.

Pitiful.

Everyone involved in Just The Two Of Us should hang their heads in shame.

And then, preferably, hang themselves, too. Mirror
